Today's practice saying the offensive execution looked pretty sharp. Late season performance seems to be carrying over.

 

I really hope Mullen and company are reaching deep into the trusted, secret, never-fail game plan for this one. Toney, Perrine, Some other folks that can catch and throw and tackle really well. If Franks can run it like in the Fla State game we'll really have a good chance to come out successful. Perfect recipe for success. He really impressed me in the running game. He was tossing it around like nobody's business too. I just think the window will open and close pretty quickly. Who was that tight end dude that tossed that pass back to Franks that time Krull? One of those...that's be good. The Jones kid...that'd be good. Any trick plays that work. But mostly beat them with sound execution and wanting it more than them!

I feel better about this one. But I said that the last two times. Mullen is great though. He's a whole different deal.

My recollection of Mullen as OC was there was always a wrinkle....different set/ formation, just to get the defense a bit confused. We may have still run the basic dive read from it. But it was different. And there might have been a unique variation off it later in the game.

Agree. Of course, we were more solid on the basics then. CDM 2.0 re-establishing that first.

CDM 2.0 also dealing with a roster that does not yet support all the wrinkles he can draw up in the sand.

CDM has greatly improved our 3Q, 4Q fight. (See USC). We don’t lay down, especially when trailing, the way way we have in the past. Some of this improvement mental, some physical. So important in a game like this. Almost a certainty that we will trail at one or more times against a team like Mich. Ignore the score, ignore the clock, keep fightin.

I'd like to see that play we ran in the SEC Championship game against Arky in 2006, where Tebow flipped the reverse to Caldwell, who threw it to Tate Casey for the TD.
This time, Franks flips it to Toney on the reverse, who throws it to Krull or another TE for the TD!
