FSU's run D is weak... but they have sold out to stop the run... Franks hasn't made bad decisions or mistakes but he hasn’t made the plays that were there. A halfway decent QB and the ballgame is over.
Toney averages 11 yards every time he touches the ball, and he gets one pass the entire half. One touch. WHY???????????????????????????
Managing the first half like we did at Starkvegas. Only with better results. CDM keeping QB/O mistakes to a minimum. Win it in the last 30.
All the runs into the strongest part of their D is perpelexing. I'm really hoping DM is lulling them to sleep.
Good point, GFred, “Franks hasn't made bad decisions or mistakes”. A year ago he would have forced 2-3 of the passes he smartly through away today.
Moderately pleased. Our offense looked functional. Franks converted a couple of third-downs when my eyes were closed. Defense dominated on all but one drive. I generally think the 4th quarter favors us. I just hope we don't have the empty-desert third quarter that we sometimes have.
Mullen's had that cold for almost a month going back to a presser weeks ago when he told someone to not bother getting water because it wasn't going to help. There is some kind of lower respiratory thing making the rounds (apparently all over the Southeast) that doesn't make you all that sick but takes weeks to get over. I'd be willing to bet that is what he has.
I think it's been explained that Toney isn't as functional as other receivers when he doesn't get the gadget play: route running, blocking, etc. So when he's in, it's obviously going to him.
