Antifa is definitely violent on the left. They're probably mostly unemployed anarchists looking for trouble. They're scum. But their corollary on the right is the Nazis, skin heads, KKK, etc. the various violent racist groups. Which is why I raised Charlottesville. For the most part, neither mainstream left nor right engage in violence. Trump altered the dynamic when he started encouraging violence at his rallies, as well as embracing the white nationalists, and bringing that violence into the fold. Nobody on the left embraces Antifa. Or even wants them around as far as I know. AFAIK, there are no leaders on the left that have encouraged violence or told their "flock" they'd cover their legal fees when they engage in violence. Again, Trump changed that dynamic.
CNN's Chris Cuomo Defends Antifa: Attacks On Police, Journalists "Not Equal" To Fighting Bigots Here you go... Your thoughts on Cuomo, here?
I addressed the violence topic in my prior post. I vote mostly libertarian when there are decent libertarian candidates as that is closest to my political philosophy. I was a registered Pub (raised in Pub family) when I first got to vote and for about 20 years. I have been independent for about 20 years. Again wrt to the alt right, you opened this up with saying Antifa as part of the left. While I wouldn't generally consider the alt right and especially the racist portion of it as part of the right, it definitely is a solid part of the Trump base which he successfully recruited and continues to play to on a regular basis... so to the extent you're a Trump supporter, those alt right folks are most definitely your political allies. If you go to a Trump rally, they'll be right there with you.
He's right. They shouldn't attack people, but I'm not going to be outraged at them punching Nazis. I'll give them a pat on the back for it. It's against the law. They can decide if they want to deal with the legal consequences, but I'll never feel a bit of sympathy for a Nazi.
You opened this up by suggesting like 2 or 3 Trump supporters is indicative of Trump's base. Then you cry foul when I say Antifa is indicative of the left... Double standard, much? Don't act like I was the aggressor, here... You suggested the right is being violent, posted two videos of two idiots being violent... Never seem to talk about Maxine Waters... and constantly consider "the Charlottesville" people a threat even though we see Antifa on a far more regular basis than we see "the Charlottesville" people... They didn't even show up as Cuomo said on a video I posted directed at @gator_lawyer ... Yet, Antifa shows up everywhere... And all you talk about is violence from the right...
Right... point me to the political rallies for any candidate other than Trump where attendees were physically attacking people they didn't agree with. And that candidate was egging them on... "in my day, we'd have taken them out back". And telling them he'd pay their legal fees.
Even though I despise Antifa, I don't consider it acceptable to for alt-righters to punch Antifa... You can't punch people for having evil views, dude... That's evil... The 1st Amendment matters...
I don't cry. And I didn't "cry foul" when you mentioned Antifa. I merely pointed out that if you're going to do that, you have to include the alt right racists on the right. Maxine Waters is encouraging protests. Has she told anyone to "take them out back"? Has she told anyone not to worry, because she or the Dem Party would cover their legal fees? You are equating all protests as the same. They're clearly not. You want to equate Antifa violence with violence in alt right rallies. Sure. That makes sense.
It sounds like you have no problem with their tactics provided they are punching what you consider to be "Nazis..." Good to know the type of person you are...
The alt-right rallies where nobody seems to show up... You're right... Antifa is more dangerous than the alt-right in 2018....
OF course... you were responding to my point that Trump changed the dynamic, which he clearly did. If you think it was going on before, feel free to point it out, but to my knowledge we haven't seen major political leaders encourage violence like this since the George Wallace days.
Name a dictator in the world before Hitler that exterminated 6 million Jews and almost won a World War.... I guess Hitler was when dictators first started being a thing...
I think all this hate directed at the FBI right now in how they supposedly didn't do a thorough investigation is just a dog whistle to the Antifa bunch to start their shenanigans. I am praying for our law enforcement officers.
1A isn't implicated by antifa punching Nazis. Yes, I am the type of person who hates Nazis and enjoys seeing them punched. Maybe if they exterminated part of your family, you might feel similarly.
They may well be more dangerous than the alt right at this point. Here's the problem with recruiting extremists on one side... it fires up extremists on the other side. You might see more Antifa this year in response to alt right groups last year, and then back the other way next year. Anyway, do you have stats on violence caused by Antifa versus violence caused by alt right groups?
Antifa is the most violent group of protesters we have. Liberals supporting them is the same as Republicans supporting Alt-right/KKK groups. When Antifa shows up, there will be violence and property damage. They are not just some happy go lucky hippy SJW's that want equality and peace. They are anarchists and extremely violent. They defy police officers while calling them Nazi's. To be honest, I can't see how any civilized person can give them their vote of approval, same goes for Alt-right and KKK groups. A good chunk of BLM can be added to that list as well.
