Did you hear the first half of Collins' speech? Nobody who defends Kavanaugh's record like that was swayed by Michael Avenatti. C'mon, Susan, we're not stupid.
Avenatti and his client Swetnick are not credible. They didn't pass the easiest of tests, which is convince the media they have a compelling story to tell. One interview with NBC and it was pretty much over with for Swetnick, which should have been the end of Avenatti. But he's a publicity hound. Different story regarding Ford and Ramirez. But at this point, guess it doesn't matter.
"Presumption of innocence" ; "Unsubstantiated allegations" ; The anti-American democratic socialist party is an embarrassment
Trump has his lapdog on the court. Brett Kavanaugh’s Radical View of Executive Power Where does Brett Kavanaugh see the limits of executive power? Kavanaugh papers offer new clues into his views on executive power Kavanaugh Can’t Hide His Slavish Devotion to Presidential Power
Presumption of innocence refers to criminal trials. This wasn't a criminal trial, but a job interview. Rape and sexual assault accusations often come down to he said/she said. Kavanaugh went on national tv and glossed over any heavy drinking and basically tried to paint himself as a choir boy too busy playing football and attending church to have assaulted anyone. Several witnesses dispute this version of Kavanaugh, but instead say he was a hard partying type and often drank to excess. If Kavanaugh lied about his high school persona, what else did he lie about? As for Ford, yes, there are inconsistencies in her story and yes, there isn't enough there to convict Kavanaugh in a court of law. Again, this isn't a criminal trial. But clearly she underwent some trauma as a teenager and she didn't deserve the death threats, slut-shaming, and open mocking by the POTUS. She had to know most, if not all of this was coming if she came forward, but she did so anyway. Last, I'm a registered Democrat. Am I evil? Am I an embarrassment? Do I want socialism? End this country? No to all of the above. The Ds aren't perfect, and neither are the Rs. And I prefer a leader like Reagan who didn't think compromise was a dirty word and understood there was value in reaching and listening to people across the aisle. Today's tribal hyper-partisanship is tearing this country apart at the seams...and the R's seem to be cheering while watching it happen.
Remember, remember, the Sixth of November . . . . To quote the soon-to-be Justice Kavanaugh, "What goes around comes around."
A process that will begin when Trump leaves office. Probably on January 20, 2021, but hopefully sooner.
If there is no need to lie about it, why ask about it? Don't you think that's clearly indicative of games being played?
