No, I don't fear that result. It's quite difficult to make a credible claim. If that's all this is, why didn't they use that card against Neil Gorsuch when he took Garland's seat? The slippery slope fallacy is not going to sell with me. I don't disbelieve women because paranoid men believe that accusations will become weaponized.
Bahahahahahaha. I posted that because it gave insight into Murkowski's thinking. Here's more insight: "That sounds like someone who's about to vote yes." Hahahaha, okay.
The Republicans will almost certainly pickup Heitkamp's seat in North Dakota. Although it will not make any difference in the end, the fact that she is likely to lose may have freed her up to vote her conscience. The Republican do have a shot at several other Dem seats (polls within the margin of error) but conversely the Democrats have a good shot at picking up Republican seats in AZ, NV, and TN and a more remote shot at picking up a seat in TX.
Of course. Nobody I am aware of is saying that she should be put above the law. And I am aware of nothing she has done or said that could potentially land her in jail. Not sure where any of that is coming from. Of course we do know where the mocking is coming from... our POTUS can't miss an opportunity like this. Nor can he do it without misrepresenting her statements. He is the living personification of the stereotypical lawyer punch line... you know he's lying when his lips are moving.
Well, that'll basically do it. Collins will announce at 3 that she's voting yes. That all said, if it had to happen, it's good that it's happening now.
I wasnt aware Garland was ever a supreme court justice. You probably think the republican destroyed the filibuster completely on their own. Actions have consequences.
Actually, no. Harry Reid opened the door. McConnell closed it. You're way off on your assessment. I've been railing against both parties for their tit for tat. But what you don't seem to get is that confirming Kavanaugh isn't going to make things better. It's only going to worsen that divide. Regardless, you avoided the point in my post. Democrats aren't accusing every Republican of this. It's fairly rare. The idea that this is going to be used against every person up in front of the Senate is a farce. Hell, some prominent Democrats were taken down too for the same thing (Franken, Schneiderman, Conyers, etc.). This isn't a one-way street.
Given the insane mob-like behavior of many leftists …. I doubt it will ever get better. IMO, the radical democrats, progressive, lefties are hell-bent on dividing the nation all the while demonizing and denigrating anyone who is white, male, and conservative.
Who cares what she does at this point? Her vote is not needed. She’s also doing her best surfing job possible on that proverbial fence. Spineless.
If the Senate had been allowed to vote on Garland's confirmation he would have almost certainly been confirmed. As far as the filibuster is concerned Reid ended it for all judicial nominees except those for Supreme Court seats. He did so because McConnell as minority leader was blocking virtually all of Obama's judicial nominees. It was McConnell who ended the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees. Giving credit where credit is do McConnell has done a masterful job of manipulating the rules of the Senate to advance the goals of his political party. In doing so, he has made a mockery of the Constitution and the norms of the US Senate.
People need to get over this crap that because Ford has made some wild accusations that she cannot back up that she needs to be treated with kid gloves. She made her bed and now she has to sleep in it. Trump just spoke the truth and re-chanted the questions she was asked with her answers
Can you imagine all the death threats these yes voting senators are getting from the psychos on the left? Sorry the tolerant left.
It's so tough to be a white man in this country. Constantly denigrated, picked on, discriminated against. Everyone is out to get us. Employers won't hire us. And when we do have a job they just give OUR promotions to minorities and females. Police target us for DWWM stops, search our cars, and trump up false charges. Banks won't lend to us without hitting us with crazy interest rates. Nobody will sell us homes in good neighborhoods... unless we're gay or "metro sexual". It's tough out there. But keep fighting the good fight. "We will overcome!"
I'm not at all a Trump fan, but if Hillary had been elected some of those adjectives would certainly have been applicable for her as well. And I seriously doubt it's a small minority.
The one Senator who broke from her party to vote the other way is spineless? Jeff Flake and Ben Sasse are spineless. Murkowski is far from that.
What he is doing is appalling and insulting to sexual assault victims everywhere. I hope he keeps it up. Shows everyone the real Donnie.
