Once again - HRC lied, broke the law, and lied some more. Lock her up - if you feel the rule of law is a founding principle.

Please keep in mind that Obama was a self-described "thug" (funny that he can use that term to describe himself but I can't use it to describe a black male) …….

Obama Admits Heavy Drinking, Drug Problems As An 'Adolescent' In Rare Video Footage

Some folks have even tossed around the idea of nominating this "constitutional scholar" to the SCotUS …. and were just fine with this guy serving as PotUS for two terms. Yet …. they same Kavanaugh is unfit …. based upon the probable fabrication of a woman who may very well have psychological issues on top of her partisan political beliefs.

But …. keep on denigrating Kavanaugh ….. if you feel it's necessary.

I think everyone recognizes that drinking to being incoherent, belligerent, ralphing and passing out is excessive.

There's not a lot of gray area there.

    Holy bullshit Batman!

If he had 'owned' any of the salacious bullshit y'all have imputed to him and his classmates, the libby mantra would undoubtedly have been: "he's trying to rationalize it, like bobby bowden's 'boys will be boys', and oh by the way, IT PROVES THAT HE WAS A SEXUALLY PERVERTED 'TANG HOUND"--therefore making Ford's unmakable and unmade case for her.

I don't even believe that YOU buy your own bullshit.

....and, apparently, unlike the angels you went to college with at USF, way the hell back...God knows when....

People in college--places like UF--did, have done so for decades, and continue to do it regularly and frequently....and it's kinda' viewed as a right of passage.

    Geeeeezzzz.....

I am serious regarding the obsession with Clinton. She, and Bill, too for that matter, are mentioned far more frequently by Republicans than Democrats. As far as the EC is concerned it's evolved into an institution far different from what the framers of the Constitution intended. In Federalist No. 68 Alexander Hamilton envisioned a body in which a select group of exceptional electors would exercise their independent judgment in deciding which candidate should occupy the office of the presidency, not a system in which the candidate with a plurality (not even a majority) is awarded all of the electoral votes from that state. Hamilton believed that the select body was necessary to avoid the possibility of the election of an unqualified demagogue with broad popular appeal or a candidate influenced by a foreign power. Ironically with Trump the modern EC resulted in the election of the exact type of candidate that Hamilton's EC was intended to prevent.

    You missed the point. Wildly.

The issue is not that he drank too much and was crude in his HS and College days. A ton of people have done that. While I didn't do it anywhere near as much as he apparently did, I did it too. Most guys on this board probably did at one point or another. That doesn't mean we can't grow up and move past those days.

The issue is that he never grew up enough to take responsibility for himself and act like a man.

He intentionally lied about his past, his drinking, the terms in his yearbook, Renate, etc, and lied about the witness affidavits and lied about his handling of the Environmental case. He reportedly lied in his 2004 and 2006 hearings as well. When he wasn't lying he was dodging questions, being evasive and deflective, and attacking his questioners.

He may have also sexually assaulted Ford and Ramirez. Ford has nothing but her word and a story with a lot of holes, but Ramirez apparently has witnesses that tried to come forward and the FBI did not speak with.

His persistent lying and deflection doesn't mean he is guilty of either assault but it sure as hell skewers his credibility.

There should not even be any question about someone who lies and behaves as he did being fit to be a USSC Justice. His nomination should be pulled for cause. If voted on, he should be voted down for cause.

...and for y'all's information--having gone to Catholic high school...in the 80's...having been an unrepentant partier myself, in HS....

I'll let y'all in on a little secret--Catholic boys AND girls--tend to talk a much bigger game about sexual exploits than what matches reality.

Apparently I presume too much to think y'all would understand why--and quite frankly, the 'why' is more something that is understood, than can really be explained--but at the end of the day, you're probably looking at like a 10% of sex that actually happens in Catholic high schools, vs. sex that is boasted about.

    C'est la vie.

He was not there so how can he corroborate it if he was not there? Anything he might have heard is second or third hand. If he was not there, he is not a witness. Your doing mental gymnastics to try and come up with a reason that the FBI should talk to him.

So you are saying you don't think the FBI knows how to conduct a background check of a DC Circuit Court Judge during his college years?

    Page 11 & 12. https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/09.25.18 BMK Interview Transcript (Redacted).pdf

Reading the transcript it is very clear there is no love lost between Roche and Kavanaugh.

So not having subpoena power isn't a big difference between a background investigation and an FBI investigation? Well, I think it is a big one. A lot of people already went on the record and they all lawyered up, not having subpoena power limits their access to those witnesses. Second, the FBI is not interested in second or third hand accounts as they are not relevant. They are going to take statement from every actual witness and let them speak for themselves, they are not going to state whether they think one party is more credible than another. They are in interview, document, and deliver mode, not "I've got a haunch that Princeton Professor might be the key to blow the lid of this whole Kavanaugh conspiracy, so let's go talk to him about something he heard third hand" mode.

If Roche wants to submit something to the JC, he is more than welcome to do that, but he doesn't have a right to be questioned by the FBI because he demands it.

    Again, more hypocritical bullshit.

If you put Mother Teresa in that white hot crucible/pressure cooker, she would have lashed back...or walked out...or sent the whole lot of them to hell.

I'd like to see you keep your flipp'n faux ass halo on, while being grilled, and accused of freak'n RAPE.

The sad part about this fiasco is absolutely nothing was ever going to change any of these hyper partisan dems minds to actually cast a yes vote for kavanaugh. The sane world is laughing at your expense.

Read the executive summary of the FBI’s supplemental investigation into Kavanaugh allegations

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Thursday released an executive summary of the FBI’s supplemental investigation into the Brett Kavanaugh allegations:

    Supplemental FBI Investigation Executive Summary

    Background

At the Senate Judiciary Committee’s request, the FBI opened a supplemental background investigation into Judge Kavanaugh. It’s his seventh FBI background investigation in 25 years, going back to 1993. The request was for an investigation into current credible allegations against Judge Kavanaugh.

Here is the WSJ article. Of note, this is the FBI agent that was accused of having Dr. Ford help her prepare for a polygraph.

Yes and I can see from reading the posts in this thread from this morning alone that the Dems have successfully shifted the narrative from Kavanaugh tried to rape someone to “he may have lied about how much he drank 36 years ago”. Unbelievable.

This is a bombshell. Ford’s BFF throws her under the bus and tells the FBI that she was pressured into changing her testimony. This was clearly a setup to take down Kavanaugh from the start. Ford should see jail time for this. What they have perpetrated against Kavanaugh is the work of vampires.

This needs to be read by all. Keyser was pressured to change her story under Oath. This is a major crime. This is Ford's BFF telling the FBI she was pressured to lie to them. This is what we call big news. Ford should see the inside of a prison cell. Major respect to Keyser for doing the RIGHT thing!!

If that report is accurate and the rumors of Dr. Ford being on the Eastern Shore all summer and never left to go back California are true, then that lends a lot of weight to the theory that his was all just a long delaying tactic, hoping that Republicans would withdraw Kavanaugh's nomination and they never thought this information would come out.

It seems that Chris "Squi" Garrett was interviewed by the FBI. It would be interesting to read his interview since he dated/hung out with Ford for a while during this time.

Obama admitted his behavior and owned up to his past. Even some of the less than stellar parts. I find his honesty admirable.

Kavanaugh? He voluntarily went on national tv and portrayed himself a choir boy. Doubled down under oath about being an innocent kid who may have had a sip of beer every once in a while. If this is all a lie to cover up what kind of kid Kavanaugh truly was, why is this acceptable to anyone?

A kid who partied and drank in high school can grow up to be President or a Supreme Court Justice. This isn't disqualifying. But lie under oath about who you were in the past? That should not be acceptable.

Brother, how could this report be INACCURATE?? This is in an FBI 302 they handed to Congress which explicitly states Keyser confessed to them she was pressured to change her remembrance of the infamous party. Clearly shenanigans going on to bring Kavanaugh down. Ford clearly obstructed justice, because she told the JC under Oath that the reason Keyser couldn't remember the party was due to some medical issues she was encountering at the time. Here Keyser tells the FBI that not only can she not remember the party, she's being pressured into telling the FBI something that isn't true. Federal crimes, folks. The only reason Grassley isn't talking about it more is because the GOP is too scared to be seen as attacking Ford.
