Not just lawyers but: National Council of Churches calls for Kavanaugh's nomination to be withdrawn The nation's largest group of Christian churches on Wednesday called for the withdrawal of Brett Kavanaugh's nomination for the Supreme Court. The National Council of Churches, which represents 38 denominations in the US, wrote in a statement on their website that they believe Kavanaugh has "disqualified himself from this lifetime appointment and must step aside immediately." The statement cited a number of reasons for their demand, including Kavanaugh's behavior during his recent testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on sexual assault allegations against him. "Judge Kavanaugh exhibited extreme partisan bias and disrespect towards certain members of the committee and thereby demonstrated that he possesses neither the temperament nor the character essential for a member of the highest court in our nation," the statement read.
At this point, might as well claim it means three guys farting at each other... or three unicorns playing four square. Makes zero difference to the vote or to the truthfulness of Kavanaugh's testimony.
Kavanaugh's lies don't matter. Even the ones he told under oath. He didn't have to paint himself as a choir boy, but he did, both on national TV and during his testimony. And know how many people from Kavanaugh's past the FBI talked to that weren't his friends? Two. Deborah Ramirez and Leland Keyser. Think Judge and PJ are going to tell the FBI Kavanaugh was a heavy drinker and often passed out? Me neither. And if the FBI was really interested in the allegation by Ramirez, why didn't they interview anyone willing to come forward and corroborate her story? This is Kavanaugh, Trump, and his cronies gaslighting the entire country. Kavanaugh is a choir boy, falsely accused of drinking too much and sexually assaulting two women. And now the R's have a FBI report that is as comprehensive as a 1st grade book report that backs up Kavanaugh. And the worst part is to the R's, the lies don't matter. As long as they win and the D's lose, to hell with everything else. Party over country!

LOL I don't necessarily find it insulting as much as I find it untrue... Ask anybody on this board, and I don't think you'll find any call me a Democrat... It meant what it meant. Two guys on one girl. He knows it and his classmates know he knows it. But he can claim it means anything he wants to claim and it won't make a bit of difference to the vote. It is interesting that there are now large coalitions of both lawyers and churches demanding his nomination be pulled for cause. I suspect that won't matter either... unless they feel these coalitions (churches in particular) can impact voter turnout in the midterms.
So, for the latest fun twist, either McConnell/Cornyn know that they have a vote to spare, or McConnell will manage floor time so that the 30 hours of post-cloture debate don't expire until either Sunday or Monday (easiest way to do so would simply be to not be in session over the weekend). Because . . . Montana GOP Senator Steve Daines says that he will not be in DC on Saturday, as he will be in Montana for his daughter's wedding.

not that it matters to you, but I have no interest for people with this kind of mindset...wanting a POTUS to intentionally troll the opposition... I hope conservatives never have to deal with the equivalent of Trump on the Dem side..
Just heard on a talk radio show they checked Corey Booker year book and his nickname was sugar. Now does that mean he was sweet or back in that day sugar was referred to as drugs

Supports Kavanaugh - 21% Opposes Kavanaugh - 50% No Difference/Unsure - 29% Same question for women who are college graduates: Supports Kavanaugh - 24% Opposes Kavanaugh - 59% No Difference/Unsure - 17% Women have sons and husbands, but they also have daughters, sisters, and friends. Considering the prevalence of sexual assault and how bad the system is at getting convictions, it's a lot more likely women have been sexually assaulted or know people who have been and didn't report it than know a man who has been falsely accused. Might want to look at the results above. The only group of women that Kavanaugh isn't deeply unpopular with is Republican women.
It was claimed about Ford from a person who said she went to college with her (that she liked to party in college). That person was a writer for conservative outlets and made an absolute fool of herself. Which has nothing to do with whether or not she was attacked at 15. She's not up for SCOTUS, and she never made any statements on the topic of college partying. Your attempt at slut-shaming only reflects poorly on you.
