I have always hated the targeting call.

I am learning to live with it, but guys should not be ejected for it.

SEC officials are garbage. That was a fumbled fair catch and Dean went for the ball.

 

Fairly easy moving the ball. LBs not covering the gaps on the line leading to big holes. Got to clog the middle.

I could have sworn I heard the announcers say it was called just a late hit. Are we sure Dean was ejected?

Seriously, it's sad.

 

Two parts of the "defenseless player" piece of targeting. I agree there was not ill intent. But the rule defined him as a defenseless player and we had helmet to helmet with a defenseless player. Hate the rule writers, but the refs called it right.

• a kick returner attempting to catch or recover a kick, or one who has completed a catch or recovery and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball carrier.

• a player on the ground.

 

How do you not lower your launch when going to the ground for a loose ball?

 

taking too long to get play off which resulted in false start and then followed by holding the ball too long and getting sacked changed this game

 

98 scared to tackle because of the refs.
