    I think the point was that it seems unlikely that a week of investigation is going to definitively prove or deny the claim absolutely, whatever turns up. This seems more like a process thing to give maybe 2-4 Senators cover, because they didn't have the votes today.

    In a side note: Dr. Ford has been on the East Coast all summer at the Delaware Shore. That is where she has been during all of this.

    I wouldn't go so far as to call it "proof" but it is most certainly "evidence."

    The ultimate reason this is all happening, the reason Kavanaugh was nominated in the first place, was undoubtedly because of his known opinion that a president cannot be charged with crimes. Don't you think it's possible that that's why Trump thought he was the most qualified? Right now it looks like it was probably the worst choice Trump could have made. Not because of the unproven allegations against him, but because of his obnoxious behavior and lies in yesterday's hearing. He's a jerk's jerk, Trump being the possessive jerk.

    OT-. Did seeing the sitting committee make you scream .... Term limits!!!!

    Anyone know the average age of that group? Most looked close to death. Most of them would be diagnosed with diminished capacity.

    Ford is going to clam up. She'll not say a word to the FBI because:
    • She is afraid to fly to the interview; and
    • The interview room only has one exit door;

    Some of the better senators on that Committee are the ancient ones. I think pretty highly of Grassley, Cornyn, Hatch, Durbin, and Leahy.

    By contrast, some (but not all) of the worst are some of the youngest.

    I’m satisfied. One week to look into things. I suspect it will be inconclusive. If so I’d support Republicans voting on him (and likely confirming). Life isn’t fair sometimes but we can do our best to root out lowlife’s. Flake is one gutsy dude.

    Weren't these hearings supposed to be "fair":

    Will the FBI investigation be "fair":

    1. Fair, impartial, disinterested, unprejudiced refer to lack of bias in opinions, judgments, etc. Fair impliesthe treating of all sides alike, justly and equitably: a fair compromise. Impartial, like fair, implies showing no more favor to one side than another, but suggests particularly a judicial consideration of a case: an impartialjudge. Disinterested implies a fairness arising particularly from lack of desire to obtain a selfish advantage:The motives of her guardian were entirely disinterested. Unprejudiced means not influenced or swayed by bias, or by prejudice caused by irrelevant considerations: an unprejudiced decision. 4. passable, tolerable,average, middling. 8. open, clear, unencumbered. 10. clean, spotless, pure, untarnished, unsullied, unstained.11. legible, distinct. 12. blond, pale. 13. pretty, comely, lovely. 15. polite, gracious.

    the definition of fair

    Didn't see a lot of this in the last couple days

    Agreed. But if it was clear she was lying, there would be no more case, so it is necessary, if not sufficient, to keep looking at this.

    So, perjured testimony (i.e., testimony given under oath) is proof of the facts which are the subject of the perjury? Wow.
