Two problems with your theory: 1. Dems are unlikely to win the Senate 2. Republicans still control the Senate after the election until January
Wait, you mean to tell me that incredibly affluent teenagers from powerful families got away with doing bad stuff for years because of their status and money with nobody challenging them? The notion is practically unheard of.
Agreed. I think she's telling the truth AND the DNC is exploiting her. But even if the Dems are playing petty politics, I'm not sure how he can be confirmed if she's telling the truth (and it sounds like she is).
Query: Is there anyone here who is politically to the right who thinks that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted the woman? Conversely, is there anyone here politically to the left who thinks that Kavanaugh did not sexually assault the woman?
I think she hasn't provided enough for me to hold her allegations against Kavanaugh... Not necessarily that she's lying....
She's accusing a powerful man, so we get attacks like this. Perfect example of how you discourage other victims from coming forward.
No offense to you, but these sort of questions are not useful. (you're not the only one) Nobody here knows what truly happened. We're all just speculating based on what we see and hopefully not allowing political tendencies to cloud our perceptions.
No, but I' probably seek to re-orient her to more pressing issues of the day, not encourage her to sulk and live in the past. If some bimbo erupted from YOUR SON'S past, 36 years ago, when they were both teens, which would both sully your family name and cause him to lose a great career oppy--and he maintained his innocence--would you be so sympathetic of the the bimbo? I know...you're going to muster your smug libby wisdom, and pretend that you would. I'm quite certain that you would not.
If this woman came off as a flake or a phony, the right would be howling right now. They aren't. She clearly sounds credible. Even Fox News says she sounds credible.
More men raped in US than women when including prison sexual abuse | Daily Mail Online More men are actually raped in the US, than women, when including prison rape.... Shouldn't we "believe men" or have a me too movement for men?
We absolutely should believe male sexual abuse victims. And they were not excluded from the #metoo movement.
"some bimbo..." Nice. She has a PhD in Psychology from USC. She is a smart woman. The fact that you need to refer to her as a "bimbo" is an issue with you, not her.
As for jail, I was using the 1-in-6 statistic for my statement. Based on your article, it would seem that statistic did not include those in jail.
It's why they should come forth before their height of power... Why Ford should've come forth before Kavanaugh was being nominated... Why Anita Hill should've come forward before Clarence Thomas was two seconds away from being on the Supreme Court... That way... these sorts of attacks can't be used against you...
I mean we definitely need a prison reform movement. I'm not sure people have trouble believing the idea that sexual assault occurs in prisons. I think the problem is more like that a lot of people think it goes with the territory, and its deserved, not because they are men, but because they are criminals.
Fox said that? I was thinking of catching some of the afternoon coverage from them, I just needed to make sure my vomit bag was close by. It must be good if Fox is saying she's credible, because she sure is sounding credible to me.
Interesting. Do you think it encourages women to come forward when they're attacked when they actually do?
Oddly, the Dems have asked more about the event than Mitchell has. She seems to be largely staying away from it.
