I was thinking that as well. It was probably a conscious decision though by her team believing that her background might add more credibility to her testimony. So she is her own expert witness. It seems weird, but may be convincing to a lot of people given the whole "it's science" trend.
The Trumpian mindset. No matter what, it's all for the dollar. Said it a couple of days ago, if she was in it for the money she would have not tried to remain anonymous. May have been naïve, but she was really sincere about trying to remain anonymous and the bashing that she has received, including that from the Trumpers in this thread, pretty much confirms why she desired anonymity.
Why does this kind of comment keep popping up? She’s said that she was traumatized by this even to the point where she wanted a second front door in their house and never wanted to even tell anyone. She could be lying about all this, but I don’t see why we have to start from a place of “what a wonderful opportunity this is for her”. I doubt she agrees.
Any Congressman or Senator whose been in office 15-20 years is a great candidate for term limits. That there is any overlap whatsoever on this committee on either side of the aisle between the 1991 Hill hearing and this 2018 hearing is simply embarrassing to us all.
I suspect that they think the votes are there - I'm not sure the Democratic "questions" would tend quite so much towards speech-making fussing at Grassley were that not the case.
Male prosecutors and defense attorneys interrogate female rape claimants in courts from coast to coast every day of every week of every month of every year. The reason Grassley has hired a "mercenary bitch" (seriously, and you wonder why your party has problems with woman?) is because in a country that is 53% female and 3 decades past the Hill investigation the Republican Party still apparently feels that not one woman Republican Senator is qualified to serve on the Judiciary committee. THAT's why they hired a "mercenary bitch".
Dems are going to see the pub line of questioning as badgering, pubs are going to see it as reasonable. No idea what everyone else is going to think. Feel like most women, regardless of which "side" they're on, are going to relate to the Dem pov.
That is exactly how academic psychologists talk. If they are seeing patients, then no, they have to use common language. But she is an academic who can (and should) use exacting language.
Problem with this conclusion is that she didn't remain anonymous..... and I don't believe that she ever intended to as her behavior leading up indicates otherwise
Yes, that part is a little confusing to me. How do you not recall how you traveled 8 miles home if you can recall the sordid details of the incident itself? That's something she's gonna remember, IMO.
My point was to the caliber of individual, not to their area of specialty. Katz is only considered reputable in liberal circles who love to see sensationalized charges against powerful men. She is the law profession's own version of Al Sharpton. Kind of like the guy here in Orlando driving around in a fake cop car proclaiming to be a Biker Lawyer. To demean Professor Dershowitz shows that it is more likely you who have know idea what you're talking about. Sexual Violence is a criminal matter. Dershowitz is thoughtful and is faithful to rule of law. Katz has become a sideshow.
Of course ….. that's how she's playing it. Too bad there's nothing to support her allegation It's likely she never want anonymity ……. that was simply a ruse.
