Grassley is a great case for term limits.

That's what Trump has been saying and if it influences his unthinking followers it could have the effect of creating complacency among the Trumpers who rely on the Donald for their news.

Not to mention Mitch McConnell who has been in the Senate for almost 34 years, eight years longer than Feinstein.

At least she's asking her own questions. On top of being a bumbling moron, Grassley is too big of a puss to ask questions himself.

    Pathetic.

Two other men coming forward claiming to be the ones who did this to Ford at the very least gives a lot more credence to the idea that she was indeed assaulted when she said she was and is not just making up the entire ordeal. I think he's done.

So far Blasey Ford has been unwavering insofar as her identification of Kavanaugh is concerned.

If you take off the Lefty glasses you would know it was in response to the call of obstruction. He mad a valid point that you on the left refuse to admit to.

    C'mon...you can't be this naive.

Grassley isn't asking questions on his own, because the optics of a man going after a female rape claimant, would be utterly toxic in this PC lynch mob environment.

If you were at a small gathering with no music and just quiet conversation, wouldnt you notice the short blast of loud music from upstairs followed by an upset woman running out? We are not talking about a 100 man party. Just 4 or 5 close friends and nobody thought this was odd?

Too much risk here if I am McConnell. Punt, re-group, make the mid-terms about keeping the Court sane.

She's been a good witness so far, with one thing that I may have noted had I been prepping her.

That is that her scientific responses come across as a little weird - "And how do you remember that?" "Well, the neurotransmitters in my hippocampus..." may be how clinical psychologists talk, but answering how you remember something with an explanation of the mechanics of memory function would seem a little odd to a normal person.

    Quick observations:

1.This format is actually better for her, the woman interviewer barely gets going and she runs out of time. No momentum.

    2. The speech making is nauseating (mostly Dem at this point since the Pubs have deferred their time) just ask questions, we all know how terrible sexual assault can be and what it can do to women for a generation or more.

    3. She's clearly not a professional testifier, she often over-answers questions, sometimes gives too much information, etc. None of her testimony seems overly polished or rehearsed. Her minor corrections add to her credibility, IMHO. And that she claims to have disclosed this while he was on the "short list", which I wasn't aware of.

    4. Grassley going out of his way to be accommodating at the hearing but began to show his ass to Durbin before the break. Calm before the storm.

I still think the 2 big missteps here for our democracy (not any party) are 1) no FBI investigation (and whatever Feinstein's role was for not bringing it out sooner) and 2) Pubs bringing in a prosecutor and deferring their business to a 3d party because in 30 years they still have not one woman on the JC. Horrible optics either way for them.

Ford is naming names, the process should have been stopped and these folks should have been subpoenaed to testify under oath with cross, a statement that they don't remember simply isn't good enough. She claims Judge was in the freaking room and still Grassley won't call him. It's amazing. Gonna bite him in the ass at some point.
