Yeah, I said the same thing earlier. She just has to come off sane and sympathetic. She won't be attacked for fear of political backlash. if they aren't going to entertain testimony from the other two and move to a vote, I don't see how they can vote to confirm. Even if you believe that there are politics at work and maybe the other two stories seem contrived, there are enough people out there that believe at least Ford that they can't move on this. The only path forward was if she doesn't testify IMO.
It sounds believable to me too. Also, it makes me think that perhaps we need to take it a bit easier on Mrs. Feinstein.
You asked a stupid question in a way that it seemed you were implying some foul motive that they got these letters of support. If you were appointed to the supreme court I suspect you could get a bunch of people from this site willing to say you were a good guy.
Is anyone claiming the Ford incident "didn't happen" other than Kavanaugh and Judge? I think people said they don't remember the party or they don't remember any incident from the party, not necessarily that it didn't happen. The other person supposedly in the room with Kavanaugh, Mark Judge, denies it, but that would be in his interest to considering he is implicated in the incident. As for those who don't remember the party, that would make sense as many if not most people probably can't recall all the parties they might have gone to 37 years prior, but someone who was violently attacked most certainly would.
What the hell are they going to do with Mike Judge, talk about King of the Hill? Although I guess whenever Roberts asks a stupid question, he can chime in with a good “Dammit Bobby!”
That was later in his life. Recall we are going all the way back to Judge’s high school days, and looking there I did find some corroborating evidence for his social MO.
Did you report these people to the police? Or in your world is it perfectly acceptable behavior to hold a woman down against their will, cover her mouth, and try to take her clothes off? Because not only do I not have any friends who have done this, I don't know a single person who's done this. It may be commonplace in your world, but I don't think that makes it commonplace in general.
That's what I said wrt the Ford thing. On the second one I think there were supposedly other people there at the time of the incident who deny it happened and the people who were corroborating her story weren't actually there (or maybe someone's story changed?)
If we are going to convict someone on nothing but a allegation we need to go ahead and fire every detective every prosecutor and send the individual off to jail. But that really is not how our system works when someone is charged evidence has to be presented to back it up

Again, there should be a difference between "I find this believable to send you to jail" and "I find this believable enough that you shouldn't be a Supreme Court Justice." Nobody is convicting him. He is not entitled to be a Supreme Court judge.
I believe the one girl who Ford says was there already said this past Saturday that she doesn't remember Kavanaugh even at the party.
