That's how this person did it. If you're going through a polygraph for a federal position, it's obviously going to be different. The point of this polygraph was to verify her story. Would it have made any difference to you if he went through her statement line by line and made her say, "True"?

Okay. But read his statements. Read how specific they are. If what actually happened differed in any way from that Politico article, he's telling the truth.

Nobody claimed that she doesn't do it. Just that she doesn't like it. It is really hard to be a functional academic without travel, so she probably just needs to deal with it.

Yes they did. They claimed that she does not fly.

Link? I haven't seen that. Because she lived in Hawaii and discussed moving to New Zealand.

Polygraphs aren't infallible, obviously, but in talking to former FBI polygraphers, the tests are the most accurate when you focus on one or two key questions, with everything else being designed to establish a baseline. The more on-subject questions you ask, the more noise is introduced, and the harder it is to get an accurate reading.

You have clearly never taken the revolutionary two-question polygraph, the gold standard of all polygraphs ever known to mankind. 0% margin of error. Infallible. I hear they're coming out with an update in 2022 where the person undergoing the examination doesn't even have to speak or gesture. The test just knows what their answer is.

He will get a branding deal for a Trump Tower on the border and the developer will magically sell units to Russian oligarchs. Good business!

There are a number of ways that the examination could have been handled differently that would give me a different opinion of it. And please don't ask for specifics as what happens during a poly is not something you talk about.

So, in other words, nothing like the test that Ford underwent.

I think it's somewhat more nuanced.

My understanding was that, where this came up, is that her explanation for why the hearing had to be Thursday (and absolutely was not possible on Monday or Wednesday) was because she could not be in DC by those days since she would have to drive cross-country because she is uncomfortable flying.

Doesn’t seem like the two are that related.

Now a pilot who is afraid of flying, that would be funny. And maybe terrifying.

Nobody talking about the fact she told Hanafin there were SIX other people at this party besides herself, when she wrote in the letter to Feinstein and the interview with WaPo that there were only FOUR?

So do we have a running count of all the assumptions Cons need to make to give Kavanaugh a pass?

    - Dr. Ford is lying
    - She saw a person that just happened to be from her home town had been nominated to SCOTUS, and impulsively decided to claim sexual assault, despite having no history of such claims and an otherwise leading a pretty successful and normal life
    - She is willing to perjure herself by testifying to her lies
    - She convinced four other people to also perjure themselves with falsified declarations
    - She conjured up fake therapy notes
    - She accuses Kavanaugh of a very specific sequence of events that she invented, but didn't include actual rape, because . . . reasons?
    - She believes there will be some benefit to all of this, despite knowing that Kavanaugh, if stopped, would simply be replaced with another conservative
    - She went to the same school as Gorsuch, but chose not to accuse him of the same lies . . . for some reason?
    - She invites an FBI investigation, which could uncover her perjury, even though she knows she is lying
    - Kavanaugh does not want an FBI investigation, because he's . . . innocent?

    - Deborah Ramirez is also lying
    - She accuses Kavanaugh of exposing himself instead of sexual assault, even though she's lying, because ... ?
    - She is also willing to perjure herself, despite leading a law abiding and successful life to this point
    - Kavanaugh's roommate James Roche, is a democratic operative that's willing to lie about the credibility of Ramirez and the behavior of Kavanaugh

    - Julie Swetnick is also lying
    - She describes the scenes in sordid detail, but does not claim she herself was raped, even though she's lying, because ...?
    - She is willing to put her security clearance on the line, perjure herself, and likely end any opportunity of future government employment, because ... reasons?
    - Avanetti is willing to risk massive bar sanctions by suborning perjury and slandering a sitting federal judge

    OR.....

Kavanuagh is a scumbag that took advantage of women when he was younger and is now lying about it to ensure that he gets a massive promotion to the highest position in the legal field.

I'll take Occam's razor on this one.

I thought this article stated that she did not fly but it does not, according to it:

DeVarney knew Ford "really has a hard time being in a place where there's no escape route." This was the reason that Ford did not enjoy flying, DeVarney said -- an airplane was "the ultimate closed space where you cannot get away."

While it doesn't say she doesn't fly, either they are saying she almost never flies or exaggerating a bit on how hard of "a time she has in a place where there's no escape route."

I think he's telling you the opposite of this.

Well, we'll just file this under "Another Disgusting Thing Said in the Kavanaugh Thread."
