Actually kind of a brilliant strategy - whether or not he had sex is actually somewhat irrelevant to the accusations as no one claimed they had sex with him, but makes him look far more innocent and trustworthy.
You suspect the guy that had a bunch of sex references in his yearbook and joined a secret society at Yale that goes by a name for female anatomy that would get me banned for posting it on here might not be telling the truth about that?
Could be a "depends on what the definition of is-is" type strategy. Hey, Clinton got away with it. "Your honor, it was not a lie, I never had sexual intercourse with that woman, I just dangled my dong in front of her face".
Still. It would be unlikely one is a virgin rapist. It’s actually possible they are both right. He terrorized her thinking it was fun with no real intention of raping her. She could easily have been terrorized and feared getting raped.
Fact is, this guy has like the worst character witness I've ever heard of. Maybe it's just bad luck that his buddy, and chief witness of his denial, went on to write this book - a book in which he apparently references Kavenaugh. "Wasted: Tales of a Gen X Drunk". I mean my god man, what is that? I have no idea if the original woman was telling the truth, but unfortunately any denial by Judge has to be met with immediate skepticism. Personally, I don't think one should have to be held accountable for their high school years (unless it was an actual rape or murder). It really isn't all that relevant IMO. But if you are questioned about it, you still have to tell the truth. It's a credibility question at this point. We'll see when the woman testifies if her story is credible or not, and what happens with Kavenaugh's other claims as far as his "angel" status.

I think there have been a lot of virgin rapists as it's often about power and not the sex. But that motivation doesn't really fit with his back story either.

Take it for what it's worth but it does look like Blasey Ford's allegations can be considered attempted rape on the part of Kavanaugh. In high school? I might buy that. I know my buddies and I used to joke about stuff all the time, including drug use and such (joking about doing coke and such just because we thought it was funny), and truth be told we never did any of that. Worst we did was have a few beers. I mean i knew a few kids that were into drugs, but never tempted to do any of it. Who knows, maybe the 100 Keg Club or whatever was just made up. But if it's made up, why would his buddy write a book about it "Wasted: Confessions of a Gen X Drunk"? I am more skeptical about the college stuff, plus the guy has separate allegation now in high school and then again in college. His denials just seem fishy to me at this point. I think strong chance these incidents happened, but he's just too embarrassed to admit it.
You cannot address “holes” in a story without doing a proper investigation. Nonsense to refuse to investigate, call witnesses “cold,” and claim they are “holes” in the story. This hearing is a kangaroo hearing.

Except that sexual assault victims are traumatized. And, there is a good reason victims often don’t come forward immediately. Read the posts here. Cosby’s accusers came forward later and he was charged and convicted.
