I am not completely ruling that story out after something I heard today. Don’t ask me what it is because the last thing we need right now is more hearsay in this case. It might end up being nothing but if I’m able, I’ll share after this confirmation goes one way or the other.

FYI - Grassley has stated that he has scheduled a vote on Kavanaugh for Monday in the event that an agreement with Dr. Ford’s team cannot he reached. If an agreement is reached, he will postpone the vote.

Interesting how Whelan has been getting access to all this information:

I think the FBI can officially investigate now. This goes beyond "background check", sounds like this PR firm could have acted criminally here.

They need to seize Whelan's computers IMO, whatever machine was used to probe Ford's LinkedIn page. If it can be proven that they knew who she was when it was still an "anonymous" letter, then somebody has some serious 'splainin to do.

I was reading about this earlier.

Same PR firm that "Swift Boated" John Kerry. Links to Federalist society. All the same crooked D.C circles. Drain that swamp baby.

It certainly gives off the appearance that the White House is providing information to Whelan. He has a lot of information he shouldn't have.

So she has until 10 pm EST tonight to accept the terms that a bunch of men have put upon her of how and when she will discuss an alleged act of violence that could have been rape and she thought she might die as a 15 year old GIRL.

And there are folks that want to argue that it is nothing but a political attempt to derail a political appointment. Do we wonder then, that a scared of shit young girl was afraid to come forward when it allegedly happened? Are we going to expect her to have an exact precise recollection of every detail of the alleged event?

Any wonder why so many women are afraid to come forward when this garbage happens? I know it's way more complicated than that, but really, what message does this send to men who might or do pray on women sexually and women who are victims of the horror they will face not only from an assault, but by coming forward about it as well???

    Just some thoughts.

Was just announced that Prof Ford attorney has requested an additional 24 hours to decide if they want to testify. I believe The Republicans threw a monkey wrench in their plans by requiring Prof Ford will be first and a Female Attorney will do the questions. This way Democrats will not be able to use old white men ganging up on poor old Prof Ford

Well, she hasn't been a girl in a long time and was aware of the process she was submitting to when she decided to come forward. I don't disagree that it's hard and often unfair, but conflating the issues with the scared little girl bit was a bit over the top. Ultimately she could have reported it to police and probably got a fair shake and less scrutiny rather than choosing a politically charged national confirmation hearing to spring her story. It was the choice of a grown woman with years to reflect, not a scared girl.

Why do the old white men need a female attorney to ask the questions? Are they afraid that they can't behave themselves? If I'm Blasey, I agree to testify, but I tell them I am not answering questions from anyone who isn't a Senator on the Committee. If she's going to put herself out there to be attacked, it's only fair to ask the old, male cowards to do the same.

A Huffington Post poll showed only 25% of women and 28% of men thought Prof Ford allegations were creditable

And the latest polls show that more people oppose Kavanaugh than support. Independents, especially, have flipped on him. Feel free to ram through an unpopular figure accused of sexual assault.

If she's looking for a way out, call her bluff. Offer her everything but going first. See what happens. BTW, it's quite obvious you can't defend the GOP cowards trying to have somebody else do their dirty work when you respond with "she does not make the rules." If she's going to put herself out there to be attacked, they need to do the same. Doing anything else is extreme cowardice.

It's definitely a bad look they wouldn't let the FBI investigate or question anyone, but are willing to hire outside council to grill her testimony. FBI could have theoretically been done before next week. The FBI only took 3 days investigating the Anita Hill allegations (of course, they also didn't come up with anything - and the testimony was still left with a he said she said). Still, the precedent is to at least "investigate" the allegation.
