When have I changed your mind? EDIT: What do I have to lose? Even if I'm innocent... an investigation that takes too long loses me a spot on the Supreme Court... That's a fairly big deal...
Kavanaugh pushing the same theory as the one his friend ran with days later smells a bit fishy. Now, it might be that Whelan went off on his own and did it, but you better bet there will be questions about it at the hearing if Whelan can't provide more. As for Erickson, it's not worth much to me. I'll keep an eye on Whelan (he actually has credibility), but Erickson has been saying off the rails things since the allegations surfaced. I have no idea whom he is, but he's been popping up on Twitter when I check periodically to see if anything new has popped. Dude just seems desperate for the attention and a little unhinged. Who is he? Here's a good example of why I put no stock in what he's saying: That doesn't sound like a guy who has any of his own sources or any independent information.
At minimum, you have six weeks. As I said, put a time limit on the investigation. I don't think anyone believes they need years to investigate this. You changed my mind with the thread on deadly force. I even told you that in the thread. You posted a study. I read the study, the rebuttal to it, and other studies. I found that other studies supported yours and ended up agreeing with you.
Former CEO and editor-in-chief of RedState. I’m not certain what exactly he’s doing now, but I suspect he’s still at least moderately plugged into conservative advocacy groups and media.
I have no idea what RedState is. The guy comes off as loony. We'll see what else pops up. I expect we'll see more and more emerge over the next few days.
Nice to hear... I always try to question my beliefs, as stubborn as I may sound... Whether that shows in our discussions in this thread is another story, but I reflect on these conversations... that's why I have them... Let's say you keep me open-minded... That said, Ford has had six weeks... She's had 35 years... Nothing until now... Even when she decided to anonymously release the story... If the Democrats wanted to go the Anita Hill route... then Feinstein should have released this information 4-6 weeks ago... It's a shame that she didn't... My big concern is, why does the committee have the responsibility to accommodate Feinstein and Ford in every way they demand, when they have refused to do the same for the committee?
Used to be a fairly influential conservative blog (and their RedState forums were a big deal for grassroots GOP politics). Seems to be less influential in the past few years since their last sale though. Probably last thing you would have heard about them on is that Erickson is the one who uninvited Trump from one of the RedState forums after the Megyn Kelly comments.
There is plenty of risk in coming out. The death threats, the negative attacks on her, the disbelief, ...basically all the l stuff that comes when men--particularly men in power--are accused of wrong doing. This is no different than what has and continues to prevent innumerable other women from coming out about sexual abuse/assaults/rape victimization. Indeed, aside from child abuse (because of age and the natural vulnerabilities of children), the under-reporting of violent victimization of women is the biggest problem regarding violent victimization and thus shouldn't be surprising. I haven't looked back at this thread, but I'm sure you're now aware that she's open to testifying?
Perhaps, but that is a matter of perception. Many (most?) who would call her bluff could be said to be the same folks assuming she's bluffing.
The proverbial die has been cast. Why come this far then not testify? Concur that there are some who will believe her or not regardless of the evidence or lack there of. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to question her motive if she came this far and then suddenly refused to continue. If everyone is out to see justice done let’s hear both sides, see the evidence etc. Enough of the theater.
I agree. Though I'll debate over issues about this, I've been trying to ignore the theater aspect of it all. Kind of draining.
Threats are coming from all sides. Feds investigating obscene threats against Kavanaugh's wife Death threats target Brett Kavanaugh's family, woman who accused him of sexual assault
Well ….. her rep says she is … with a number of special considerations and accommodations. So, we'll see. BTW … you realize Ford has done work for a pharma company which sells a product containing mifepristone …… commonly referred to as RU-486. And, given that she's served as director of biostatistics for that company, she likely has an equity position of some sort in the company. So …. aside from her general political beliefs …. she would be quite motivated to end Kavanaugh's nomination give what democrats believe his position on abortion to be. While she may have some risk in making this allegation …. she surely has much to gain, too. She's gone from an unknown liberal academic to being a leftie hero ….. especially to radical women's groups and the pro-abortion industry. I expect she'll be in big demand for speaking engagements, etc
Ricki Seidman? So why does Ford need a former Clinton and Biden operative to advise her in preparation for her truthful testimony before the Senate Judicial Committee? I wonder what Seidman charges for these services $700/ hour ...... and who’s covering the fee for the Ford engagement?
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, she needs somebody that can help prep her for the shit storm she's stepping into. Anybody short of someone who has given testimony in prior politically charged Senate Hearings would need it. And even with prior experience would probably take legal advice and prep if they could get it.
Because if they don't accommodate them, then idiotic Senators like Mazie Hirono and Kirsten Gillibrand will run to a microphone and spew garbage. And the media, as they have for decades, holds microphones in front of their faces, and portray their garbage as fact! To the media, fair only goes one way. Fairness doesn't extend to Brett Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh is toast. Any conservative man that is put up from this moment forward is toast. Welcome to the new and improved USA, proof is no longer required to ruin a man's life! Winning!
subpoena all of them . then you can get the notes and or tapes from the shrink The problem is there is no evidence. Just her say and nothing to back it up. Does not know when it happened, where it happened, how she got there, how she left there, two people she named that was there have denied it happened. but trust me it happened. now if you had this Corey Booker statement
