Was “scheduled” for today, but that was just a formality to have it on the schedule. Judiciary’s rules provide for one automatic 7 day delay upon the request of any member. Not surprisingly the Democrats requested the delay today.

The report says it stems from his activities in HIGH SCHOOL. Yep. Sexual misconduct. Seems like a scorched Earth strategy by my fellow dem leaders. I don’t like it. Obviously if he raped a kid as a teenager that’s disqualifying but really? Has it come to this? Thanks Pubs. You successfully brought us all down to your level.

And apparently the big issue was Keg City Kavanaugh and a friend lock a young woman in a room during a party and she felt threatened but managed to get out of the room through another means. If accurate, a swing and a miss.

Something that he did in high school? seriously? Did he play "you show me yours I show you mine" with some cute little girl in kindergarten too?

I hope I don't get busted for my "spin the bottle" escapades in middle school.

All they need is what, 2 pubs to switch their vote? I guess that is the Hail Mary. Half of me is laughing at how the pubs brought us here, the other half is crying.

Have they sworn in McCain's replacement yet?

    Never mind, yes they have:
Jon Kyl, the former U.S. senator from Arizona who once served alongside the late Sen. John McCain, was sworn into office in the chamber on Wednesday morning.

It's just fodder for the coming election really. Make the guy out to be the Darth Vader of judges, then you have another issue to motivate your base in November. There is little chance he isn't going to be confirmed. The really messed up thing is how politicized the process has become and will continue to be as both sides continue the tit for tat.

Apparently Feinstein isn't fringe left enough for the CA Dem leaders. This is her way of making up with them. Retire already!

Of course this is the Republicans fault. I mean they were the ones who "borked" Bork and dragged Clarence Thomas through the mud. Democrats have always just tried to portray these people as great Americans and fought hard to get them confirmed.

Bork was a nut, and Thomas was a sexual harasser. Thomas dragged himself through the mud.

A Sexual-Misconduct Allegation Against the Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Stirs Tension Among Democrats in Congress
The woman, who has asked not to be identified, first approached Democratic lawmakers in July, shortly after Trump nominated Kavanaugh. The allegation dates back to the early nineteen-eighties, when Kavanaugh was a high-school student at Georgetown Preparatory School, in Bethesda, Maryland, and the woman attended a nearby high school. In the letter, the woman alleged that, during an encounter at a party, Kavanaugh held her down, and that he attempted to force himself on her. She claimed in the letter that Kavanaugh and a classmate of his, both of whom had been drinking, turned up music that was playing in the room to conceal the sound of her protests, and that Kavanaugh covered her mouth with his hand. She was able to free herself. Although the alleged incident took place decades ago and the three individuals involved were minors, the woman said that the memory had been a source of ongoing distress for her, and that she had sought psychological treatment as a result.

All this coming from a US senator that had a Chinese spy running her office for 20 years. Priceless!

    Bogus move today. Embarrassing, really.

Will end up backfiring on the Dems.

Every person deserves a fair hearing.

But he’s been in the public eye for decades. Worked at the White House for years. Been confirmed by the Senate before. And she comes out now, after his SCOTUS hearing is over, on the very same day the Dems have to exercise the their 7-day, matter of right extension to extend the vote?

    Not buying it.
