    sending condolences and sympathy on your loss, will keep you and yours in my thoughts, one of my best friends and mentors went home from Tal to Gretna for hospice care this afternoon, 85 years of helping folks be better, going to miss him.

    Bill;

    I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. My families thoughts and prayers will be with yours during this difficult time. As you stated so well, she is in a much better place with your Dad. God Bless and be well.

    Making a shrimp, tomato, pasta, and kale dish with feta cheese as a topping tonight. I will see how it works out.

    Beer can chicken, poblano/potato gratin, corn "scramble" (corn and the white and light green parts of scallions sauteed. Then toss in diced vine ripe tomatoes, the green parts of the scallions thinly sliced, and add a bit of olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Put that in the fridge and enjoy later.). That was a lot of slicing! Even with a mandoline for the potatoes I was working hard for about three hours and can now take a break for about 45 minutes. After that it is mostly letting things rest and slicing up the chicken.

    And cleaning all the dishes.

    And taking a shower sometime this evening.

    My wife wants me to make a recipe she found (tore out of) the April Food Network magazine for Thai steak cabbage wraps. I will give it a whirl tonight.

    We are home from Albany--Our new neighbor that moved in from Colorado wants to cook for us tonight--no idea what kind of treat we're in for--but cold adult beverages are in order--so I'm gonna figure everything is good--
    Enjoy life every day folks-- the clock's running on all of us--

    Baseball life, memories, friends and family--and hopefully everyone has family that loves to cook--I wonder what the po'folks are doing tonight--;)

    Cold adult beverages are always good unless you like toddies, red wine, or something like Guinness.

    Now Lurk--

    Remember, cold adult beverages can most definitely include cracked ice and really good whiskey--

    After our past several days I looked at Ms. Jan and asked "what would you really like for supper tonight?"
    She responded promptly "let's be bad--I want a grilled filet mignon, a baked potato, and fresh salad"--

    So I went to our W/D and had her an 1 1/4" thick filet cut and wrapped with bacon and had myself a 1 3/4" thick bone-in ribeye cut to go along with baked potatoes, fresh classic romaine salad topped with vine ripe tomatoes--
    She wanted Ketel One over cracked ice with lemonade and iced cold longnecks as always for the cook--

    The neighbors will be hanging on the backyard fence--;)
