Pasta Bolognese tonight, except that I don't use ground veal. I just almost double up on the ground beef and add a little extra ground pork.
just finished the crusts and put 2 spinach & cheddar quiches in the oven, what the lady of the house wants she gets
94* here today behind a day of yard work--gonna be on the smoker most of the day tomorrow so tonight we're making our version of a Cobb Salad-- Classic Romaine lettuce, shredded baby carrots, boiled eggs, thin sliced avocado, fried chicken fingers cut up into bite size pieces, crispy fried bacon, shredded tex-mex chesse, and topped off lightly with Ken's Steak House Three Cheese Italian dressing-- The ice cold longnecks are the perfect answer to a day of yard work pre-empting a light evening meal--
Spicy (Sichuan peppercorns) pork and mustard greens soup with rice noodles tonight. Smoking chickens tomorrow for the 4th. Just as much work to smoke one as it is to smoke two so lots of leftovers. I'll won't need all mustard greens that I bought for tonight so I'll cook them tomorrow. And fresh corn.
We've got some company coming over tomorrow that we've known since our college days-- It'll be 3 racks of Baby Back Ribs over apple wood smoke on the Big Green Egg with a couple of chicken halves for a couple of folks that for some reason don't like pork--Inside it will be a big pot of fresh green beans and new potatoes along with a pot of fresh stewed yellow squash and shaved Vidalia onion--company is bringing a desert for those with a sweet tooth-- The back porch Yeti is already full of iced Mich Ultra longnecks with another cooler of ice ready for crafts, IPA's, and wine that may need to be chilled-- Happy Fourth Gator Nation!
