^^^ We are up @ Trenton to see Tim & Kayla and our new granddaughter Maggie Grace so we are doing a good bit of eating out ourselves--going to see the Trenton Thunder tonight--the ball park fare @Arm & Hammer Park is well above average so we'll probably take that on tonight--
In the chili: Will it include items from the gators side of *our* Omaha bracket: Texas brisket, Arkansas pulled pork, with Texas Texas Red Raider hot spice?
Don't forget when you make your trip to Publix--it's a baseball pot of chili, so remember about those chili-cheese dogs!
Send the recipe into the TD Ameritrade ‘s food concessionaire....maybe it gets selected to be on next year’s CWS’s menu!
The Publixs near me (I checked a few) stopped stocking Pat's Ho Made BBQ sauce. My wife found 5 bottles on the shelf at the new Publix in Alachua and bought them all.
Lurk-- We've gotten some strange looks @Publix in Dothan at check- out----8 bottles of Pat's Ho-Made BBQ sauce, 8 bottles of Ken's SteakHouse Three Cheese Italian Dressing (our W/ D doesn't carry that either and it' s our favorite salad dressing)---
Pork shoulder (Boston butt) is almost done. One part is still not up to temperature (195 F), but most of it is. I rotated that part to the hotter part of the grill. It will be taken off soon and then rested for 20 to 30 minutes before pulling.
I've got the night off ( kinda )-- Jan's doing a spiral ham in the oven up here for tonight and I've got a pot of green beans & new potatoes with fresh white cob corn added in for tonight--
I heard my wife talking to one of her sisters on the phone this morning: "Oh, we are letting Lurker smoke some meat for Father's Day." I wouldn't trade my wife for anyone.
Hey guys....thanks for the head's up on the Pat's Ho Made BBQ Sauce. Wrote it on my shopping list for tomorrow. I love this thread........you guys provide a lot of inspiration! For me tonight it's an iceberg lettuce salad with seasoned croutons and thousand island dressing. The key is to pre-shred the lettuce at least a day before and have it already nice and chilly in a Tupperware in the fridge. That cold iceberg is so dang good - even by itself it's delicious! After shredding I put it in a colander and wash it down real good under running water and let it sit in my sink for 30 minutes before it goes in the fridge. I think that's helps make it more crispy and crunchy. The main course will be Ahi tuna steaks. I will Panko coat them and do a quick fry. I know that sounds like a crime cooking them this way but if you haven't tried it don't knock it. They taste unreal! I use the seasoned Panko crumbs. For beverage it's ice cold diet orange soda....in honor of our team.....yum! Cheers!
Thanks, 74....that's what I had in mind. I made both a couple weeks ago and was looking for a new BBQ sauce so your timing was perfect! Thanks again!
Where did all of the pulled pork go? I have a 22 year old son, so I think that I have an explanation. Grilling a mess of chicken legs finished with Pat's tonight.
