I'll have to look up the video but he said slyly something to the effect "lots of coaches want this job". I may be reading to much into that but I think he was literally implying CK and DM want the job (which at the time we weren't aware of). When we heard the reports of Florida Moving on from CK and then CK signing with UCLA we all assumed we were trying to save face by saying we we're moving on because CK was choosing UCLA. I think we actually did move on and then CK went with UCLA.
Actually I was referring back to early on in the search process when it was said that Florida was growing tired of dealing with Jimmy Sexton....then all of the sudden CK rumors started gearing up. It looks a bit like CK was used as a smoke screen in order to level the playing field with Sexton / DM as crazy as that sounds.
My guess is CK never wanted the UF job and UF never wanted CK and they both knew it. The CK/UF courtship was all a dog & pony show and nothing more. You may be on to something as to why. My guess is also the using was mutual. CK got a dream job for him IMO and under a great contract, by UCLA standards. The timing was too perfect for there to be many or possibly any other explanation. Is it just coincidental that JM's buyout was finalized recently with Sexton & Co. that favored UF (I say favored UF because UF saved approx. 5 mil. and avoided litigation) and DM was so quickly hired? Win (CK), Win (JS), Win (SS/UF) BTW, In my scenario I don't think UF fans should feel slighted by CK not wanting to come here. IMO after experiencing the pressure and scrutiny he did in the NFL, including his scheme/s being exposed and/or neutralized and not being a great HC IMO, he wanted to go where he would be more comfortable as such.
I motion for there to a HOF on this side of the board. Why hide it on the pay side when there’s no incentive to go over there since you can’t open anything else?
