No, that's the complete opposite of what I am saying. That is an issue that gets worse as the QB loses more and more confidence. It is going to get worse as the season goes on if nothing changes.
Not counting any chickens. The coach that we hire can't be as bad as Mac turned out to be. I just don't see another 4-7 season with a competent coaching staff in place. Let's see what Stricklin can do.
My point (also in the post) is that if it happens every week from 1 to present, it's indicative of something else other than confidence being burned during the season. And that's the case here.
Franks looked good on hail marys and maybe 2 other plays this season. Other than that it's protracted 10-yard sack, rifling to a guy 3 yards away or throwing the world's most obvious picks. If coaching is all he needs then I suggest we'll need to hire the world's foremost QB coach, because he's so far behind most redshirt freshmen it's really baffling.
And he's labelled a "project" and I've given him a lot of slack. Been on his side, saw some traits that could be potentially great, etc. But absolutely no progression in his first year. Driskel improved in his first year as a starter. Brantley did. Leak catapulted by season's end. That's what you look for. A glimmer of hope. There was none this year. So again, if it's all coaching, then we had rock bottom coaching the last two years. I can buy that, maybe. But I posit it's not all coaching.
Hello. This is my first post. But, I have been following Gator Country for a long time. I will add some football related comments later about the "offensive" coaching by the last two staffs. Following this thread has been fun. Almost all of you have been terrific. The intelligent, witty exchanges and passion reflect well on the Gator Nation. Another reason "its great to be a Florida Gator." Thank you all for being informative and entertaining. One thing i am sure of: there will be better days ahead.

He won't get a sniff of the UF job, this time around. Dino Babers is a very good football coach and a phenomenal person though!
Agreed, I like the kid too, but none of our past QBs that were any good looked as bad as Feleipe after two years out of HS. I'll agree some of it's coaching, but Grier looked a lot better under this same staff. It's not a good sign that a guy with his experience still hasn't mastered the speed of the game and makes terrible decisions at this point in his career.
Man, UCLA got quite a deal. If we get Frost, we'll probably have to pay him more than what UCLA's paying Chip.
Regardless whom Stricklin hires this year, if we are going to need another coach in the next 2-3 years I doubt Stricklin will be the one to make that hire. He doesn't benefit from the immunity Spurrier and Meyer provided for Foley.
The fact that Kelly isn’t our coach. Regardless of what conference or coast he prefers to be in, you CLOSE the deal. You make him want to come here. The fact that he chose another program - no matter why - means we blew it with the attempt to get Kelly.
Whoever comes in is going to have to psychologically put Frankes back together again. That kids mind has been totally messed with this entire season. Wow.
