Foley was a great athletic program director. He was an awful football director. I’m not sure why people think evaluating and selecting coaches is transferable between sports. The reality is very few ADs are qualified to hire for any sport, let alone all of them. Fooleys most glaring problem were football facilities. It’s impossible to know the process of his football hires, which the process is good. It’s not fair to just judge on results. We do know he failed on football facilities.

I think he is going to parlay kimself into...staying with ESPN. UCLA may be a program who will wait until....? to get an answer and live with the outcome. We just weren't. I consider it smart.
