Chip will be announced tomorrow as UCLA coach...all this “noise” is just to muddy the waters

Our offer is still there, I'd imagine UCLA's is also. What I'm hearing is both schools are sick of the back and forth at this point. Both are at the take it or leave it stage I assume

I've legitimately read from like 3-4 different SAUCES that UCLA pulled a Florida and told Chip they are going to look around now

He may have been set up to fail there, but he still could have overcome that. He didn't. I wish Charlie had his chance after 2009 to take over the Gators. It would have answered this question once and for all (and imo, he'd have been better than Muschamp). However, you can't just overlooked his failure at Texas.

Lol if UCLA is sick of it after 7 days of back and forth, I guess we should have been sick of it 3 weeks ago.

Good. If both of them put down a "take it or leave it" offer, Chip will have to make a decision.

I’m pretty sure that 50 years from now, UF fans are going to be suggesting we hire a portrait of SOS to coach the football team. The man has given our school enough. Let him enjoy his retirement without dragging him into the mix every time we can’t get the coach we want.

Sounds spot on, I'm hearing UCLA is tired of the back and forth. Which lines up with what people on our side were saying about how SS is feeling at this point.

The UCLA thing shows it's def him, not us. Lol @ SAUCES, I laughed out loud.

I'm totally OK for this for a year or two. Honestly we may need to settle for that. So much chaos right now. UF may need to wait for a less chaotic environment. Chip Kelly's presence and Frost's undefeated season may produce insane bidding wars this year.

I think he desperately wants to return to coaching.

UT is not similar to UF. It’s a program entirely controlled by Oil Tycoon Boosters and billionaires. We all know what happened.

Seeing as how Chip is turning into the beautiful girl at the club who turns out to be a psychopath, I'm sticking around if he ends up at Arkansas or Tennessee.. Lol - still think he ends up here.

My only question is if/when he does end up here - does this start the relationship off on a bad foot?

He might, but it's going to be on his terms. I don't think he is so desperate that he feels UCLA and UF are the only options. And I don't think it's a money thing. It will be the program that hands him the keys and gets out of the way.

The reality is we are living and breathing each moment of high stakes negotiating. The reality is this could go many many ways and it always has. Shit I bet over the next day we will go great news, bad news, and weird news.

    My guess:

    70% UCLA
    29% Florida

But I’m jaded by the old guard at UF. If we are truly ready to show major commitment (as in he’s not getting more commitment from other schools) then:

    Florida 60%
    UCLA: 39%

I think that CK has been telling UF and UCLA that he was solid to both of them to keep his options open while he made up his mind. Then he set them up to try and outbid each other and they both got tired of it and left their offers where they stood. This is a guy that backed out of Tampa AFTER he signed the contract. He also backed out of Philly first and then ended up signing the contract a few days later. Before he became the offensive coordinator at Oregon, he was at some small NH school and it took them fighting tooth and nail to get him to leave this small school for a huge opportunity.

oh. nah im good on that. not sure why anyone would want a guy who retired because he wasnt enjoying himself to come out of retirement to re-take a job he hated because of fans who will hate him if he doesnt win 11 games by year 2
