I doubt Spurrier even wants to come back. He seemed over it all in his last two years at SC.

Yep, good analogy. At some point you have to say enough is enough.

    Who wants a plot twist?

Hearing there's def a deadline on our offer for Chip. BUT, he's apparently struck out with both us and Bruins as far as the bargaining, leverage, and further demands go. He may not end up at either one, UT has entered the ring as well.

I'll tell you what, if he does end up here after all of this. He DAMN SURE better deliver.

I agree, and out of respect for the new coach, he probably needs to just go enjoy retirement. Coaches are narcissists, and not one of them wants Spurrier poking his head into offensive strategy meetings.

Agreed. Even if success at USF and UCF are considered equal (but they aren’t), Strong has failed as a HC at the highest level of college. What you have failed at is as important as what you have succeeded at.

I do not want to look it up. What is his record against Top 25 while at Louisville and Texas?

The way Spurrier left USCe should be enough proof he is not going to come back and rebuild Florida.

I apologize in advance for not reading 1062 pages but has anyone else heard that UF and UCLA have essentially told Chip Kelly to get lost, that he tried to be the Cock of the Walk and demand way too much?

I would like to see Frost or Strong as primary, then Taggart. If it's none of those then let Spurrier have it for a year or two and look to see if Lane Kiffin has imploded yet.

Yeah, but can he put his pride aside to come back to UF’s offer?

I mean it’s One thing for Franz and Buddy to mention it half in the bag on a Friday night

Surprised that Doering, Ackerman and Shane would suggest it too

There's no way he struck out with both. He just may have to drop a demand or two to get his suitors to return. I'm not sure anyone knows what's going on at this point.

i got some beers in me so im gonna take a more relaxed approach now

I'm actually fine with Scott giving Chip the middle finger and laying his balls down and saying "im not playing this game with you anymore."

I've read....quite a number of blurbs or little articles about how much of a prima donna attention whore chip is. While these rumors have been all over the damn place there is one consistency, chip and his games. His leveraging of this and his leveraging of that and nothing is ever enough for him. Maybe I'm wrong on Scott. Maybe he flat out told Chip "you want the keys? Here the keys man. To the whole damn kingdom. Do you, minus NCAA issues." And chip replied "BUT CAN YOU LIKE MAKE ME THE MAYOR AND GOVERNOR AND PRESIDENT TOO?"

This been going on for 2 weeks now. It's absurd. Even UCLA insiders on their boards have hinted that UCLA is getting tired of Chips games.

I want Chip. But after 2 weeks I can see a situation where Scott gave him a middle finger in a nice way by saying "there is our last offer, take it if you want, im going to frost."

After this weekend there are going to be a dozen plus head coaching jobs opening up and you cant spend 3....4 damn weeks negotiating with this ridiculous drama queen as head coaches you might have wanted end up going to teams in your own conference because you pooped the bed waiting a month for chip and not looking around.

Great question, if he struck out with UCLA also then he has no choice but to other than just stay at ESPN. Unless the Vols do something, I think they might be desperate enough to do whatever the hell he says.

He flopped in a big way at a program very similar to UF in resources, tradition, and support.

I think it's very possible that he struck out on both. He is owed $6 million in 2018 and another $6 million in 2019. He can ask for his own space shuttle if he wants. He has 100% of the leverage.
