In that case we would have said "take it or leave it". I doubt we would've gotten angry and pulled the offer, this isn't Shark Tank.
This was said on the buddy martin show Franze Beard is now reporting on Buddy Martin Show that Chip Kelly overplayed his hand at both @GatorsFB & @UCLAFootball where he has burned both bridges. Now @Vol_Football is getting into the mix. As if this could not get anymore bizarre imo, i could not find a single care in my bag of cares for what Franz says. He's been wrong this whole search. He was the first or second person to "done deal" kelly to florida on sunday so odds are good hes wrong again.
Kicker, Richt knows how to coach an offense. Yes CK is overshadowing, but he can't coach everyone. Florida is starving for offense. Miles is the exact opposite of that. I'm not saying he's a bad HC, but at UF he'd be a VERY bad HC.
If I was a troll, id be doing a really good job, because a trolls job is to illicit a response from people not smart enough to realize they are replying to a troll.
Do you think this is something UF brought up last minute? Or something CK was fine with at the beginning but changed his mind?
Nah...still only as smart as I was before Thanksgiving, albeit a tad stupefied, temporarily, for the gluttony... I just haven't seen the thing to hang my hat on enough to effectively conclude that Ck-UF =DOA. If anything, seems like SOS/DD, since this thread opened up. Feel free to correct me, if you have anything.
You are basically correct. UCF has struggled to fill its stadium in recent years. But there is more there than meets the eye. It has a lot to do with the trajectory of the football team and the fact that Orlando has a ton of things to compete with going to a football game. UCF has averaged just over 39,000 in attendance for 5 home games (Ga. Tech was cancelled due to the hurricane.). That is a 9000 fan increase per game in two years. Contrast that with UF football where average attendance has declined (also impacted by the trajectory of the football team). The two schools have both averaged just under 85% of capacity in 2017. I have been a Gator fan for over 60 years now. Always will be. I just don't understand those who want to make themselves look bigger by trying to make others look smaller. The mighty Gators can stand on their own two feet.
Very doubtful about the money. Not sure about the control part either, but need more reports when the dust settles.
If true they all deserve to be fired! How epically stupid can they be?? What coach on this terrible staff deserves to be retained?!?!?
Richt has had more success developing QBs, but his offenses had some issues throughout the years. However, I'm not one of those people who are intent on fixing the offense. I want winning football. If we have an average offense and an elite defense, I'll take it if we're winning 10 to 13 games per year. I just want a respectable program. I'm tired of the mediocrity.
I'm leaving for game at 7 am in the morning. I have never felt so uninspired going to a UF FSU game in my life. I expect to lose, and really don't care. I was amused by Stricklin's twitter saying the search is going well and as expected, and we will be in a happy place. If he means we will all be in an insane asylum based on his handling of this hire, he may be right. Kelly is out, no way we get Frost. Those were the two that would galvanize the fan base. The others candidates are mostly just cannon fodder like Mcelwain. Foley really took a dump on Stricklin with the McElwain hire. Having been a booster and season ticket holder for so long, I can only guess others in my situation are feeling similar, and the wrath of the worn out long time fans may soon come crashing down on Stricklin and the UAA.
I don't generally disagree, but: A) Strong wouldn't embarrass UF (or at least to a degree lower that Clarabelle the canine QB, PB&J, "Ain't it cool", Imaginary death threat levels). 2) CS has been at least able to find an offense from time to time, and doesn't seem opposed to scoring points and using athletes to do such. And finally, CS is probably in the hiring pool (way over in the deep end), where I'm fairly confident Mac is not.
