Yep. SS may have simply been playing out the ultimate in due diligence in regard to fan expectations. Think folks are losing their feces now? Imagine if it got out that Kelly was interested, contacted UF, and SS politely declined to talk to him, instead waiting for the season to end to talk to the other likely candidates? SS explored the option, and now we are right back where we expected to be as of Mac's firing presser.
I don't care. You're wrong. Beloved or not, there was a lot of trepidation about bringing back a guy who might bail again and would further cement the notion that Florida = Spurrier.
I remember well...when Spurrier was an option it was all. Spurrier As the process carried on and I guess Spurrier wasn’t an option it shifted big time to Meyer especially as he kept winning By the time he was hired everyone was all in on Meyer
Who are our insiders? Tilly and BenTrillGriffin? They don't know any more than you or me. This whole thread had a lot of people giddy about the prospect of Kelly to UF. What was the thread title?... something like "Kelly Buzz: Hotter than a Peter Warrick suit from Dillards." It was all probably based on guesswork and internet searches. UCLA rumors were shot down as not being from credible sources. Information about dealings between UF and Kelly was disseminated as gospel. I guess the lesson here is don't believe anyone or anything you read until the head coach is actually introduced. The only people who really know anything about the Chip Kelly dealings are Scott Stricklin, Kelly, and a handful of other key UF officials. Having said that... Chip Kelly may still end up at UF.
Wonder if UF is using the Frost meeting as more of a signal to Kelly to get off the pot. Kinda weird that we’ve heard nothing about Frost and then suddenly we’re meeting with him.
Huh? Instead, the CK to Florida hype hit record heat levels and the fan base was set up for the ultimate disappointment. If anything, SS failed horribly in managing fan expectations. I sure hope we get Frost. If not, there will be very little excitement on the hire. Hopefully the basketball team will keep winning

I just want the coach who'll prove to be the best at DEVELOPING players. That's been the issue with us. Getting talent on campus has NOT been the issue for Mac and Muschamp, it's the failed development, offensively that is, that has led us to this point
