Well been gone most of the week, come back and still we are talking Kelly and he is or isn't going to be our coach. I knew this was going to turn into a circus when UCLA came open. All Kelly is doing is trying to squeeze every drop of cash out of both schools. Its time for Florida to tell him to piss or get off the pot. If that sap sucker doesn't want to be at Florida then screw him and find someone else
True - but we want a guy whose ultimate goal is winning it all going head to head with the big boys.And smart enough to know to which is the better opportunity to do that (UF vs NU). If Frost to UF, another coach we hope can handle it. Not a sure thing by any stretch.
Probation didn't stop Urban Meyer. It didn't stop Steve Spurrier. It didn't stop James Franklin at PSU. I could keep going naming coaches who succeeded despite probation and sanctions from their predecessors. Winners win. Losers make excuses. Those Trojan teams were stacked with talent. They got worse under Kitten. The team improved under the interim HC, Ed Orgeron. The excuses need to stop. USC did fall apart after Pete left, because they hired Lame Kitten as their HC. He took the HC job because Saban wasn't bringing him back. He got pushed out. His offenses actually averaged less points per game during his tenure than Doug Nussmeier's Alabama offenses did. I'm not a huge Taggart guy, but what you're saying isn't accurate. Nick Saban sure didn't prove it immediately.
Wait, so the Yahoo report was based of "Florida moving on"? If that's the case, this info came from the UF side. Also, seems like we haven't moved on but rather have our other pursuits lined up this weekend. Since there's been no official word from Kelly, isn't it safe to assume we are basically telling Kelly to shit or get off the pot - NOT moved on?
Kelly was in a unique position to leverage whoever he was talking to. He and more importantly, his agents knew this and exploited it perfectly. SS leaked that they were prepared to move on. This is the shit or get off the pot, you’ve received our final offer. All part of the negotiations. Now we see if Kelly was using the Bruins to pump his offer from UF or vice versa. If he wants to coach the Gators, he’ll be here. I’m not ruling it out yet.
It seems pretty clear we didn’t offer enough. Whether it’s assistants, facilities, nutrition, booster events...we didn’t do enough The sad thing is every offer from every school to CK should be the exact same Salary: as much as they can afford Everything else: literally whatever CK wants If CK doesn’t want to do booster events. That’s ok. If he wants a nutrition plan. That’s ok. If he wants to fire all assistants and SSs assistant, that’s ok too. If the UAA wants to play with fire and not give CK all those things then that is incredibly risky. At the end of the day you don’t want to look back at ANOTHER lost decade and feel remorse because we wanted to keep Shannon or some booster wanted his ego stroked.
Just like the article the other day. No news. The news is that we are in a negotiation with Kelly and competing with another school.

I usually don't rise to the bait but for some reason I am in the biting mode. Everything you have posted is sound with a little bit of melodrama.
