Just like Chip (mr show cause), other guys need second chances...the opportunity to pass on the tougg lessons they have learned to help young men avoid making the same mistakes. So how about Art Briles or Hugh Freeze ?...if Kelly turns out to be too soft for the SEC
If we don’t hear a small tidbit today or tomorrow, I’m going to assume we lost Kelly to UCLA and SS and the UAA blew it. There’s no way we can hold onto this kind of announcement without SOME kind of leak. Even the rumors of Kelly to UF stopped, so something is up. Either we got him, or SS is bluffing and he’s going to be up **** creek trying to do damage control because he sat on his ass thinking Kelly was in the bag.
This would kill any recruiting efforts for a solid year and set us back for several years. Imagine the negative recruiting...other programs will be in recruits' ears, telling them that they would waste their time where the coach is sure to be replaced in one year with no guarantees about whether they will fit the new coaches schemes, and be a year behind in terms of playbook, etc.
After all the hype (warranted or not) around us getting Chip, can you imagine the shit we're gonna get this weekend if we lose out on him and get our ass kicked by FSU. Brutal....
We got the Fawbush leak (discussed about 800 pages ago, give or take 100 or so). I think it's significant. We don't even know if the kid's still alive, which can discourage further leaks.
Kelly is the type of guy who seems like he is getting 1000000 phone calls or texts every second about all this and has the ability to not respond to a single one of them. In fact he probably just laughs this off and is out watching Justice League at this very moment.
I agree. Then the choice is get someone like mullen and sign them to a 3-4 year contract and contijue down the path we've been on for the past 8 years.
