Well at bare minimum Gainesville in August translates to ESPN announcing he's signing tomorrow, not our current, ambiguous status
It's already been downgraded from its previous level, so clearly this isn't the hottest Tilly has in mind. And as of now, all information stills leads us to believe a Sunday announcement is happening. Nothing to make us think otherwise at this point.
Chip is going to closely scrutinize the game this Saturday. Unfortunately he won't get to see Malik Davis play. But hopefully we'll squeeze all we can out of Lemons.
I like em all and wasn't complaining. I originally did come here for football though. Boobs make the time pass. Or we could repeat the same crap for a week or two till we sign a coach.
1. Kelly 2. Frost 3. Mullen I think Mullen could kill it here. And I like his IDGAF attitude. He is also super competitive.
I choose to believe Tilly and BTG who seem to know that Chip Kelly will be our new HBC. They seem to have information that is bottled up from on high to protect the big splash presser announcing Kelly's hire. Pair that with the complete silence from the UAA and Skiff Slapshot, who has turned off his tweets completely, and you have what seems to be a Kelly hire just waiting for the proper moment to unfold. If I am wrong then all the winks and nods 0n pages 700-714 were just smoke and mirrors. If that is the case I will, in future, look for solid info elsewhere. But as I said, I still think they all know what they are not allowed to spill.
Personally I think our AD should make a pact with the devil, like the great slugger they found in the book The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant (adapted for the stage as Damn Yankees). We hire this fantastic coach and nobody knows where he came from.
The Kelly thing has been built up so much, any other coach we hire is likely to be met with a big yawn and disbelief that it's the best we can do. This will be compounded by diminished season ticket sales and contributions. We would be entering a black hole if this hire doesn't go well.
