Well then it is hopeless for us to get back to championship form without hitting the lottery on some unproven hire. We have really fallen when UCLA and Nebraska are better destinations for coaches that supposedly want to win championships.

Meh...nothing against Strong but he just doesn't move the needle for me and never has. I was impressed what he did at Louisville but then the Texas gig just didn't work out for him. I still don't think Texas gave him enough time. If I were Slim Shady I would make Shannon HBC, bring in either Oklahoma State's OC #2 offense in NCAA or Frost's OC #1 scoring offense in NCAA, pay then $2mil. Then I would bring in Wisconsin's DC (#2 Defense in NCAA), give him $2mil.

 

You'd rather hire an OC with no head coach experience than a proven successful head coach? Too many glasses of wine with turkey today?

 

Columbus wasn't looking for a offense coach, so Strong doesn't belong on this list.

 

What has been happening is that we have not been firing coaches at the right time. Wouldn't be nice, for example, if we had gotten Fuentes from Memphis? Wrong year. Frost? Nebraska opens up at the same time. Franklin? No, give Muschamp another year. But someday we're going to get lucky.
