I'll be laughing at all the "insider info" reported on here being WRONG. I was never that enamored with CK anyway. Of course I'm not real big on any of the other candidates either.
More like Gator "insiders" in general. Stoops comes to mind off the top of my head as one example. Plenty of recruiting examples but I can't remember specific players.
No reason to be confident with the news trickling out as it is. However, no reason to throw in the towel either. It's looking like it is going to simply come down to CK's personal preference, as I'm sure the $$ is about the same. If UF thought they had him locked up and if he actually is talking to UCLA, there is no way to call that a positive for UF. It's 100% understandable, but not a plus for UF.
Its about the $ and clicks, there's no such thing as an insider, only the people who are in negotiations know what's going on. The "insiders" just here things from a guy, that heard it from a guy, that heard it from a guy
And more to your point ... he supposedly has interest in NFL. What do peespective nfl employers think of a candidate who made a decision on the prior job because 1) they wanted less of a challenge and to take it easy and 2) because one job is more of a fish bowl? Every nfl job is high stress and in a fish bowl- it probably becomes a concern for nfl GMs when coaching candidates shy away from challenges. If you are a GM, might be a bad look. Just another angle.
To Crl... Good news on CK..."You guys are drinking the Koolaid, don't believe insiders..blah,blah" Bad News on CK...."See you guys shouldn't get your hopes up, he's probably not coming." To be consistent in your logic and not be labeled a negativity attention troll you have to be consistent in your application of accepting rumor and innuendo, not just what your biases want you to believe.
Well said. Two coaches have proven that the ingredients are here to win a Natty, do it with style, and be at the top of the college football food chain while becoming a legend in the most storied contemporary conference. UCLA ain't got that. If CK truly is "all football" as they say, if he truly is a coaches coach, then the draw of Florida and the SEC wins.
So if Kelly chooses UCLA, how does that make anything said here wrong? For instance, Does that make the plane ride a myth? Were reports of his flirtation with Tampa Bay wrong, just because he changed his mind last minute? I have said all along...several times if you take the time to be objective, that this thread is gauging the temp at any moment, and is subject to change. But I mean, why would you root so hard for the Kelly stuff to be wrong?
Some do...but you understand it was "insiders" on this board that told folks that Mac would be fired 48 hours before it happened, while the big guys like Forde and the like were saying it would not happen.
Thanks for trying...I really mean that. Not sure where your confidence comes from though...An agreement with out clause?
