One of the best posts in the whole thread. There is anti-foley thread somewhere where I posted all the misses by Miami, Michigan, Bama, Notre Dame, USC etc. EVERYONE deals with that. We still got two National Titles in the midst of our misses.

Completely agree here. This is a different situation then when we hired Mac. There is a nice list good football talent. Some of that Talent may need a few years to develop into a power five head football coach. When we hired Mac he was the guy. Was there any other coach hired that year who would be considered a homerun hire? I can’t think of any coaches from three years ago where their teams are in the top 10. This year around there seems to be several coaches that have turned around programs and have their teams going in the right direction.

What emotion? I'm being coldly logical. If Tebow didn't work out, we could cut him like everybody else has.

Agree to disagree I guess. I won’t be surprised if by year 3 he has Oregon contending on a national level. This will be his third program he will have turned around except now he’s at one with resources to actually compete nationally. Again, not my first choice but he definitely impresses me because I know he’s more than a first year Oregon record.

I think this deal lands on Charlie Strong....just have that feeling. Kerwin Bell as OC (ooh get roasted for that one)

The Chip thing just seems off the rails, and frankly not sure he really wants the gig. Frost can't blame him for heading home....Charlie can recruit, coach defense, and his offenses at Louisville and S FL were good

I really don't think he had a shot at Texas from day 1

Gotta believe the "plan C" is Campbell or Gundy. Both of which I could definitely get behind, ESPECIALLY ahead of Mullen, Taggert or Strong.

It's purely emotional to think that the fan-favorite player, who hasn't coached anything at any level, could jump in and succeed as the head coach of a major SEC power.

Just went to ESPN homepage. There is nothing on there about Kelly talking or meeting with UCLA. So technically, GatorCountry is the world wide leader in sports!!

That is your second reponse pointing to other potential candidates. Tilly, that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me about our chances with CK.

Holgorsen would work for me too in that tier of coaches. I'd still prefer his teacher Leach, but would be satisfied with him.

I saw a schedule of when we have actually hired our other coaches. Early December is a common date, and never before December. December 2 for several, which is coming up soon, about 10 days. I would post a link to it but I don't remember where I saw it. Anyhow it caused me to settle down a bit. I think we have to wait for at least 10 days for an answer.
