You conveniently forget all the misses by bama and Michigan before they landed Saban and Harbaugh. It's simply not an exact science. Name an "elite program " and you can find a missed or botched coaching hire
More likely Strong. But that's plan C. Scott frost is plan b. The problem with Frost is he may prefer Nebraska (even with us) or sit out this round and stick with UCF for another year or two (20% but not impossible).
Personally, I would be perfectly happy with that option. Monster recruiter, won't be divisive, uses a spread. Really, I just want someone that wants to be a Gator. Well, of course, and wins.
Wonderful Tegator! Harmonizing and a 12-string guitar gives it that great '60's sound. You think Chip will log in and listen? How can he say 'no' to that?
Morning y’all! Tilly, based on what your hearing about plan c (and I think it’s fairly easy to interpret your posts to mean it’s Taggart), would you say it’s safe to assume that CK or no CK, we’ll know who our next HBC is by Monday? Also, that Heitner tweet is cryptic. Is he confirming that CK did agree to the contract Sunday but backed out or is he confirming that kid’s tweet only and hedging bets by saying something may have changed after?
So you are saying that a coach divorces his team to sign with the gators while they are practicing for the bowl game? I guess it has happened I can't think of any non coaching target that would fill the bill not named Stoops. It's beginning to look like the plan B coach is Willie Taggart from Oregon who is a Florida native. I have not seen such a leak free situation since I've been following the Gators and that's a long time. I'm still hoping for plan A.
I don't know why I feel so pessimistic this morning. We needed a coach like Chip Kelly Our program was so down and smelly Scott tried, but the day He chose UCLA Chip gave Scott a punch in the belly
Agree completely. The amateur psychiatrist in me tells me that his decision will be based on things other than money. In the end I think it's going to be about where he can win the most games and I fear that is UCLA. I think that would be a mistake because I don't think he would ever get out from under the shadow of USC. They own that town and are entrenched in the driver's seat as far as recruiting goes. He would be second fiddle in LA and he should know that but egos are strange things.
hiring taggert is basically hiring Mac all over again.. please don't let this be, we've settled for mediocrity since 2010...no sense in doing it all over again. I will be bummed beyond disbelief if this does happen..
Taggart isn’t particularly tearing it up at Oregon right now at 6-5 and 3-5 in the PAC-12. No thanks.
Well Taggart can recruit. He has a top 5 class coming to freaking Oregon, with a bulk of those from Tampa. Not saying he should be the guy, but he is light years ahead of Mac on the recruiting side.
