Saw what he did up close and personal at USF. One of the most impressive things I've seen in the sport being honest. People who cite his record aren't educated on the guy, and with his background being Western Kentucky and USF I don't blame them.

I actually was thinking of all the Rooney rule interviews that go on at the NFL level. Feels like the same thing. True, I'm honestly surprised all the players on O stayed committed to Mac/Nuss. I forgot about the few wanting certain coaches retained. But when we land Kelly it almost shouldn't matter. No doubt he'll bring in a monster staff.
I agree with this. I want Chip. I think he's an elite coach, but if he chooses to go elsewhere, fuck him. We're still the Gators. We'll be back soon, with or without him.
You either believe Chip and Gators are navigating around the SF contract and perpetuating fake news, or you don't. Thing to remember is there are a lot better options here and now than in 2014. Our 5th choice would be a major upgrade.
I think if we don't hear something tomorrowthat is concrete and definitive from a reputable, quotable source that Kelly will be next coach then he aint coming. I hope I'm wrong because I'd really like him as our coach. But Squishy Snediker isnt going to wait until Sunday or Monday when TAMU, Arky, OlMiss, UT and others start courting Frost, Holgerson, Campbell, Norvell and other employed coaches. He fired mac early so he could get a jump on those schools. He cant waste any more time waiting on kelly to make up his mind.

He'd actually fix our problems wouldn't be the overnight success Chip would be, but Taggart would have us contending in 2-3 seasons, with an extremely stable foundation. Isn't as splashy, isn't as sexy as Chip, but man would I be happy. If Taggart was at USF Frost would be firmly the second most desired coach in the AAC for good reason. Taggart's the more dynamic personality, and he's the better offensive mind IMO as exampled by his success calling multiple schemes Power Run (Stanford) Pro Style (WKU) Read Driven Spread Tempo (USF)
