If you read between the lines of what has happened and more specifically has not, then you could probably figure out why Tilly and BenTrill are so confident...I'd especially pay attention to the timing of everything and the facts we do know which they told ya about BEFORE it happened. As far as rumors that make it sound like Chips talking to this school or that UF may be looking elsewhere, it really would not surprise me if those are being put out there by schools who want to hire CK or agents who want UF to hire their client. That effort would be to cause tension or concern in both UF & CKs camps to stir up doubt between each...
Personally, I have backed away from the ledge and am ready to call CK Gator bait if he decides to wimp out and go to La La land. That would indicate to me that it was all about the money and not about competing with the big boys in the SEC. If it's about a few million more at UCLA then it was always about the money and good riddance. If it is about the challenge of building a legacy to be remembered by then he will choose Florida and the SEC. Either way we win. If he chooses Florida and less money we will have a coach who is ready (and able) to take on Saban & C0. If he chases the UCLA money we will have dodged a bullet. I want a competent coach who is willing to work his a$$ off to bring the Gators out of the desert not someone who comes here already looking for his next gig.
Chip is the ideal coach for UF right now. If he chooses us or not doesn’t change that. This narrative of well we are better off (Insert lie to feel less scorned) is foolish.
Yea, my biggest fear was that Stricklin might go after the wrong guy. Now that we more or less know that he has gone all in and done what he can to make this happen, I'm happy to let the chips fall where they may . In the end we will get the right guy. I still have a feeling that will be CK, but if not I'll trust our AD to secure someone great ASAP
We all hope you/they are right. But trying to read between the lines doesn't mean that they know for sure this is locked up, just that they've been told everything should be good to go by sources. Hopefully all the new stuff is bs. If its not then Stug Speedman and co better be ready to go get their next best option (not named mullen or strong).
Na, I agree with that sentiment. How can we be better off with someone who does not want to be here. If he chooses, not to come here because we low balled him or forced Shannon on him (that sounds like total BS by the way, pretty sure that hasn't happened) then I'd be upset. But if he just likes the PAC 12 and LA then we wouldn't be better off with him. Other good coaches around the country who want to rev up this ferrari and go run over Bama

Yeah if this was a recruit I’d tend to agree with the other poster but the HC is the foundation of your team and it’s future, that’s why they get paid mega money. Anyone can get paid $2m to go .500 with Florida talent, we need someone to get us to the playoffs.
It’s not about him earning money. It’s about school/booster commitment to his program. By that I mean facilities (UF is still behind), assistants, analysts, technology, nutrition, etc. If UF wants Kelly it needs to give him the key to the castle and all it’s resources. It’s the cost of getting an elite coach.
I like your style bro...Everyone knew Mora was toast but the timing was IMO...a desperate play to make a run at Chip because they knew the contract was on the jet Sunday night via Chips agent. I don't think he signed it but did agree in principle to it. IMO the agreement is/was to sign and announce on Sunday after FSU. Unless Chip agreed to NOT listen to any other offers then all is still good to go.
