He doesn't have to enjoy recruiting but his competitive nature will ensure that it gets done. Chip isn't a cut the corners type of guy when it comes to winning. If he doesn't win, it won't be from lack of effort. He hates losing more than we hate watching it.

If I were a woman I would ask my man for fake diamonds so he could spend his money on boats and golf.

And I'd be half naked all of the time.

Not sure about that. I hate watching us lose quite a bit.

I just get in my boat and go. My years of asking permission are long gone.

They speak English very well. Better than a lot of Americans. And they are polite and courteous. And on time (at least the trains that is). I love that place.

Absolutely. I missed a class last week because I was reading all of this massively awesome thread. The problem is that I'm the freaking prof.

I think it's more that it saves us money. I think Chip is going to get the same amount regardless.

I love the attitude, but must respectfully take exception here--and here's why.

When I was in HS, 3 of my best friends were huge FSU fans, and going to FSU.

I applied to several schools, including FSU (along with USF, UCF, Miami, a few others, and of course, UF). We all talked about going to FSU--that was their dream school, it was a potential fall back for me (assuming it were the only one that accepted me)--so talked about going there.

Then I got into UF; no brianer...I'm going to UF.

One night I go to pick up one of my FSU buddies up at his house, to go out partying. He meets me out at my car, and tells me his dad (a huge nolie booster) said I was no longer welcome in his house, since I was going to be a Gator (I had previously enjoyed carte blanche open door freedom in his house). I laughed, figuring he was joking. He was not. He reiterated, and said he was serious as a heart attack.

Lost a lot of respect for that guy (friend's dad, not my friend) over that immature idiocy from a grown man, old enough to have kids in college. Struck me as pathetic.

Additionally, a neighbor of my parents was also a huge nolie booster (also a client). 2 of his 4 kids went to UF; he was cool with it. Deepened my respect for him. We go back and forth, Gators v. Nolies...standing six pack bet every year.

...and finally, my bro is a 'cane alumnus--his eldest son, is a Gator. Respect.

So funny on a message board...but keep your priorities straight in the real world.

If FSU were the only school my kids could get into, I'd back their play as nolies. (which reminds me, one of my cousins' kids is a nolie; we give each other some grief every T'giving, but at the end of day, family > rivalry).

    Just some perspective/mho, fwiw.
