Haha, I NEVER call into shows but said screw it, dialed and just got in on Finebaum. Pretty much just reeled off my points made in the post on top of page 516.
I agree based on what others have posted in here and the fact that our players AND recruits were all tweeting the same thing. It sounds like Stricklin gave them all the low down to keep the class intact while they are waiting on this to be resolved but they were advised not to say anything.
He grew up in Pahokee, played in the band and played football at Pahokee High. My dad grew up in Pahokee, was a couple years older than Mel, and dated his sister briefly. When Mel was on Hee Haw in the '70s we anxiously anticipated him jumping out of the corn field and saluting his hometown of Pahokee, FL - instead he said my hometown of Nashville, TN.
Tip my hat to you sir... ....and of course to the legendary @MyakkaGator the original trailblazer of the hot sig. (but props for leading the way in the prohibition era of 'THE THREAD').
Yeah, I know. I was sad. Although I am not what you would call a country music fan, I did meet him a few times a Gator gatherings as a child. He was a very nice, down to earth man from my experience.
There is some kind of complete BS out there that if they announce him before the end of our season, then he would forfeit some or all of his NFL compensation for 2017. It's ridiculous from several angles, but people find it comforting, so they tend to believe it.
I'm kind of leaning toward the "get the biggest bang for your buck" kind of thinking. Why officially leak you have an agreement in principle now so by the time you have the actual announcement it has already run the ESPN news cycle. It would be old news by the weekend.
If they're looking for any reason to get out of paying CK for 2017 it would. Would depend on the verbiage of the SF contract.
