I fully believe Chip is the next HBC at Florida... He is my 1B choice vs Frost being 1A. However, I have zero issue with Kelly being HBC over Frost. Kelly has the experience and track record, Frost would more likely stay beyond 5 years. Outside of that, both are outstanding hires in my eyes.
Well, you seem simple minded so I tried to dumb it down for you into more basic instinct type of thoughts. Carry on.
Ummmmm, wasnt there a story not long ago that made national headlines because a young lady auctioned off her virginity for some crazy amount?
I've noticed that no one has also considered there is a holiday coming up this week and that perhaps Kelly is making moving arrangements and wants to have a quiet holidays before announcing?
Well said, not sure people understand just how much that whole vetting thing costs. We're not spending big money on a maybe. People forget that this is THE University of Florida. One of the most prestigious institutions and athletic programs in the country. While Chip is absolutely elite coach, there are things we're just not going to do as an institution that would make us look stupid. We're not the "okay, well let us know" type. President Fuchs does NOT get on that plane for any other reason to close the deal, not potentially close the deal, or go beg. He goes on that trip to sign right under or above SS and CK. Period.
I agree with points from several posters. Verifying and signing off on off set language sounds reasonable. Not wanting to disrespect the current staff. Wanting to have a big announcement without smearing it in the current staff's face. All sound legit. Not having a signed deal? Could be legit. I'm excited for our future either way. If he doesn't come, it's not the worst that can happen.
My ties to UF are not as an alum (mostly business, geographical etc). but I can name the past 5 presidents off the top of my head lol. There is no way that a guy that doesn't know who the president of the university is has one dab of insider info.
Definitely never said I had any info. I said I would be willing to bet that most casual gator sports fans in other markets that never went to the school have no idea who the president is.
I would forsee Nike money being used to advance some of our facilities and or bling in existing facilities. Oregon is nice, west coast school... but getting into a major SEC player at the same level as they are involved in Oregon's program could be a huge marketing win for Nike.
