And not just yesterday, but weeks leading up to this. Everyone knew Mora was on the hot seat and that the position would open up.

 

My post last night was a little caustic, and the above relates more to my way of thinking this AM. If Selling Strychnine can't close the deal after after yesterday, it wasn't meant to happen. Our fallback plan should be the best football coach available, a coach that understands both sides of the ball and will actually hire assistants with the same philosophy. That person may not be the splash hire of a CK, but someone who can bring the fundamentals of a winning program with them.

 

We're going to need some entertainment and distractions here, the "ban" might be lifted by then. Might want to rethink the Mrs part..

 

You're saying the president was brought along to "close the deal" which means there was still nothing firm from Kelly. Taking the president to see him to close the deal supports what I said - there was a hard sell being put on Kelly, that's what was needed to "close the deal".

At this point it seems Kelly is still in decision mode but at least UF has done everything they can to show him how much he is wanted.

Also, didn't some one say last week it would be announced Tuesday at 11 (some of it runs together from the # of posts)?

 

This is what I think. The editorial at the end about "I will probably sign but want to talk to UCLA first..." is kinda crap though.

He didn't say that to them. That would be insulting. He probably said I am not ready to make any decisions until I speak with ucla. Which is not good because they are an inferior program and this means he obviously had his eye on this job considering we're not getting trumped by a Bama or OSU here....
