imho.. i get the feeling we just got played. Kelly's team just forced ucla to fire their coach in fear of losing out to florida. from what I've heard the buyout was 9 million and they immediately go after kelly. ucla already has a meeting setup for Monday...really... obviously communication going on behind closed doors between both party's also explains drawn out process between kelly and florida.. hope im wrong but think that ship has sailed

 

This is purely just my thought, and I have nothing to back this up. But I think that's the flight to get the John Hancock, I could be wrong I just don't think the university's actual president makes that trip unless it's to finalize the deal. I also do think if that is said flight that SS is going to say "oh yeah we just went up there to get the contract signed".

I could absolutely be wrong though. Excited to see how it plays out.

What makes you guys think UCLA is a must have job? I don't have an opinion either way, just wondering what your thought is behind is to make you fear that opening so much in this scenario.

 

If we start hearing other names leaking over the next 24-48 hours, we have a problem. If we don’t, they are finalizing the deal. Let’s hope no news is Good News.

 

Agreed. Call me what you want, but that UCLA/Kelly news spread quick and on point.

This whole thing is going to be extremely difficult for the fans, admin, and future coach that has to deal with the repercussions.

 

I know CK is a west coast guy. He has proven his system works out there, but after his disappointing NFL coaching career, we can only hope he wants to prove himself in the SEC vs out west.

 

Another thought to add to the scenario too is Stricklin going radio silence in the past couple days on Twitter etc. which can be interpreted this trip had been set up for a few days. Then that would debunk any notion of just throwing it all together at last minute bc UCLA came open.

 

I wish the players would offer more insight than an emoji on Twitter lol.

I see that view point. I don't think Stricklin would have said "Hey, he signed it - it's in my suitcase" even if it was signed. We literally don't know if it's signed or not. I know I can't take it any more lol

 

It does not matter what we think about the UCLA job. The only thing that matters is what CK thinks of the Job.

 

Exactly. It almost makes me feel that if CK were to accept that job over UF, I’m not sure we could trust his judgement in the first place. Comparing the opportunities for him, he could win here quickly and it’s a no brainer

I think one thing has been confirmed, they were negotiating with Kelly and it got to an advanced stage because the prez was involved.

However, them flying up there with no Sig is nothing but bad news. Couple that with the UCLA stuff and this is not a good turn of events.

 

Yea man, appreciate all the info though. The last 2 failures of head ball coaches and now the continued drama really gets to fans, which is why were all walking on eggshells right now. So much false info and unconfirmed stuff thrown around.

 

Facts! I don't know Chip Kelly bro, but he strikes me as a smart guy. He also strikes me as a guy who wants to WIN and win BIG. He also strikes me as a business man who will at the very least hear people out.

I don't see him going to UCLA, and not because I'm a UF fan. If we're talking USC here, then I'm worried. But we're not, so I'm not.
