Agreed. Chip is already getting paid a lot of money from his NFL buyouts. It's not going to be money TO CHIP that seals the deal (or sealed the deal). He could not coach next year and still make millions (maybe even as many millions as he'd make coaching).

That would be crazy if true. I'd say if we don't have Chip signed, a lot of blame will go back to the fact that we were dicking around for so long. CK was a free agent. The AD probably decided to can JM a month ago. They should have been on top of this a long time ago, and announced by 1-2 weeks max. If CK does not happen before thanksgiving, then is chances are practically nill.

If they said they still expect to have conversations then "productive" means where they left it was not optimal for UF.

Just my opinion, but this could get really ugly if CK isn’t coming. He is the homerun hire, all-in, make it or break it hire this time around. Any other top tier coach or even an up and commer, you aren’t getting the full court press and the entourage like CK is getting. This is how we would get stuck with another Champ or Zook. This could snowball with the other big names and hot coaches dropping out. Go all-in and miss, this will get ugly. Has to get done now. No plan B.

I have to say Spot Smudgen is a class act. He did not have to come back and meet the fans. He saw them waiting for so long at this late time on Sunday in Ocala and threw them a bone. I like the guy but I hope he is competent where it counts, getting the right coach hire.

If CK signed I think it is just the wrong thing to say. Our AD and President have to be completely above board and forthright. That imo would be a shade to the dishonest side. Then again, even if hired already, I guess they would be having some productive conversations this week as surely CK would be in Gainesville.
