Probably not. Schools like UF and UCLA that actually turn a profit on football generally don't dig into funds on the academic side of the house for coaches. That money would more than likely have to come strictly from the athletic side of the house. They probably do have money because their program makes money, and I'm sure there are also plenty of booster dollars coming in.
If Stricklin misses on this, his tenure is over before it ever really began. Do I think we will sign Kelly? Yes. If we don't, I've never been more sure of financial consequences to our football program
I understand the sentiment and don't disagree it can be viewed as worrisome. The widespread thought is that Chip pursued UF and reach out first, UCLA's coach getting fired has been looming since before then. If he wanted to go to UCLA why wouldn't he just wait for Mora to get canned and then call them? I think as his agent you should at least hear them out, if nothing else than to be professional and keep a clean face. That's his job. Just as in free agency players talk to multiple teams, recruits visit multiple campuses. At the end of the day I have faith the better situation, and the one that's farthest along will win out. By the ESPN video about Chip being asked about the UF job, ESPN is enjoying our thread also. I think that was pure set up and ESPN knows what is really going on and trying to troll us.
