Chip Kelly was just on SportsCenter at about 8:20 a.m. ET. The host brought up the UF job to Chip, and asked if he had interest, and asked about the plane tracking this past week! lol.

CK was coy and didn't divulge anything. He did not say he was or was not interested...played it very smart, and not getting into the trap. Basically he didn't deny or confirm interest. Pretty much what you'd expect.

So what I'm saying is that it's confirmed he's our next coach.

 

Did we expect him to say anything different? Any coach in negotiations is going to toe the line until it's all said & done.

And where are the ESPN Studios? NH? Or Conn?, in this day and age he could have been on teleconference with UF and his Agents. And now with Skippy Stricklin being AWOL from Twitter (Has not tweeted since Friday night) adds to the speculation he may very well be in the NE meeting with CK.

 

Doesn't the coyness play in our favor? If the rumors we're not true it was an opportunity to say that it is all BS.

 

I understand that. Just trying to give any information I can. It's the first time he's been publicly asked about it on camera that I think any of us know of. It doesn't give us an answer, I know, but it's something.

 

I saw it too. I was hoping he'd put on a a Gator hat but, we'll have to wait a little longer I guess.

 

I won't be able to describe it adequately, but everything about his responses to me lead me to believe he was trying to hide something. What that "something" is would be that he's obviously dealing with UF. I can't prove it, but it was clear to me.

It was a pretty short segment with him. They put up a Gator head on the screen behind him and asked him straight up about his interest in the job. He asked if that was ESPN's way of firing him. He claims he's been in NH all week until heading to Bristol for his ESPN duties on the weekend. Mentioned Urban and Spurrier and said whoever gets it will be really lucky.
