ALL GATORS TUNE TO ESPN2! The halftime show (potentially featuring Chip Kelly) starts momentarily...1:27 left in half.....
He's not really gone....he's more like Bella Lugosi, slinking around in the shadows and refusing to come out during the day.
regarding the Frost and Nebraska stuff... reports of them being "close to a deal" are exaggerated. Riley supposedly knows this season is his last and requested to coach the team through the season, which Moos is letting happen. Nobody officially connected to the University has reached out to Frost in a formal manner, but like anything else, contacts close to the University (i.e. Tom Osborne, agents, etc) have spoken to Frost's people on behalf of the University to see if he would be interested in returning and get a general sense of what it would take to bring him back. There has been reciprocated interest from the Frost party to the Huskers. Again: no formal talks or anything have taken place. Its all hypothetical at this point. But more and more people associated with Nebraska media, especially those who played with Frost and remain close with him, seem very positive on the idea that he is going to come back and coach Nebraska next year. I don't think there are "specific" numbers in place or anything like that. The number thats always been tossed around for Frost is $5m a year. I think he will wind up getting something like that and I do think at this point it appears like a matter of time until he coaches at Nebraska again- but I do not believe any formal offer or deals have been extended or agreed upon. Nebraska and UCF both conclude their regular seasons next Friday. I'd bet Riley is released or steps down that weekend and then you will hear rumblings about Frost and Nebraska through the next week until Frost coaches the AAC title game and then a formal announcement probably the following Monday or Tuesday 12/4 or 12/5.
We're going to let him officially finish his commitment to ESPN.... then we'll announce his hire.... just my guess
