Ok but I'm not getting any "information" except our only targets might have been Chip and Bobby. The likelihood Stoops would come out of retirement to take on this pressure cooker are slim and Chip Kelly is looking less likely, although he still may be our next coach. So, I doubt Chip and Bobby were our only targets.

A deal falling apart with a top coach is not surprising to me because we have a bunch of idiots running the show at UF. It's not SS's fault if we wind up with another mediocre coach. I've lost my passion for UF sports due to these idiots. I know I won't be contributing a dime to UF as long as they are in power.

 

Agreed. And anyone who knows anything about Chip Kelly as a coach had to see this a mile away regarding demands. His adherence to sports science, etc are well-documented. I’m really not sure why we’d go down this road with him if it was going to be an issue to begin with.

I never said they were only targets just that they were the first two targets and I know Bobby was approached and thought hard about it and was not an immediate "NO". Remember OK job changed for Bobby. Ok job is changed forever since three main things: 1) TCU emergence and added to a power 5 conference, 2) Baylor being woken up from the dead, 3) A & M added to SEC.

I think Stoops coaches again but you are not wrong in that Stoops to UF too early in his first year of retirement but he was approached seriously more than just a left message by SOS.

No doubt a great recruiter. If he doesn't have a Winston type qb he hasn't been very good. He has beaten us, but that really isn't saying anything.
