Me too. Partially because of my age (was 14 when 5150 was released) but I had been interested in playing for about a year and the first time I heard the song 5150 was when I decided to learn. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard Why Can't this be Love on the radio before the album was released. DLR era is great too, but for me Sam provided a lot more integrity and musicianship to the band- not EVERY song was about drinking and chasing girls. Eddie is a whacked out dude with tons of substance abuse issues and other problems, but just a phenomenal and inspiring guitarist. Style of music no longer my favorite but huge influence on me and many other guitarists. Here's a few pics of one of my guitars. Friend of mine in GNV painted it. Eddie had a few incarnations of the striped guitar, and mine is based on the "5150" that he played throughout the early Hagar era. I routinely call it Uf5150, and I lasermarked that on the neckplate. #guitarporn
Well here we are on football Saturday. Any of y’all think our man Strick Skywalker has saved the announcement for today, for maximum splash?
