Since I’ve decided to chime in after 420 pages... who the hell uses the F5 key? I had no idea what the “F#” keys were for.
I’m starting to lean in that direction. I suspect the contract will be done well in advance of the FSU game, CK is on site to watch the game, and is announced Sunday.

True and true. But I'm with @makattack on this one. I think it would be extremely disrespectful to Randy Shannon to introduce the new HC while he's still leading the team, even on an interim basis. I don't see Stricklin doing that to Shannon, especially since the guy is a well-respected former head coach. I don't know if they can sign the contract with CK in secret or not, but I now strongly believe that no announcement will be made until AFTER the FSU game.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an agreement in place with CK. There may be an order in the agreement to not disclose to media until after the FSU game. This keeps the agreement from undermining the rest of the season. Also, Matt Corral is down 27-13 at the half on FOX Sports GO. He threw a dime for a TD with :05 left in the first half to keep it from being a blowout.

I appreciate the sentiment but let's be honest, Shannon isn't coaching for his job here. He has been in charge for 2 games, one was a slaughter and one was underwhelming. He isn't getting the job. This isn't LSU last year when Alleva wasn't sure what to do. Everyone knows what Stricklin should do. Randy Shannon's wife (assuming he is married) knows what is coming. Shannon could be retained but only as a LB coach or at absolute best DC. Nothing more. Why are we worried about being nice??? I just can't see that as being the rationale in the delay.
Randy is the interim coach. He's a placeholder. They're not even considering him for the job. Hiring someone else isn't going to disrespect him more than not even giving him consideration. And just to make it clear, I'd be irate if we were considering him. LSU made such an idiotic move in hiring Orgeron. Never go full LSU.
