I heard the reason for the delay is that the Pride of the Sunshine has been practicing spelling Chip out for the halftime show Saturday.

Could it be announcing Kelly as coach is being delayed until after the UAB game in case we lose?

A loss to UAB is a realistic possibility, so... if he is introduced before the game and Gator Nation is excited but then lose to UAB, then that loss could potentially take away from the excitement and attention of announcing him as the new coach.

But, if we wait, then nothing could possibly hinder the excitement for at least a week and we can enjoy our Thanksgiving.

Just a thought....

 

You sir don't seem to know anything and you and the people like you who continue to larp and want to feel important is what's going to put the egg on our faces should it all fall through.

You do understand the embarrassment that will be cast down upon us all right? You understand the pressure this will put on any coach not named Kelly? The likes of these "insiders" perpetuating myths, lies, and group think will harm our brand, culture, and program a lot should you all be wrong.

That being said I hope you are right and you will be deserving of my most sincere apppoligies if you are, but a lot of you seem to be guessing and checking, and if you don't have real sources if you don't have real information maybe you should stop pretending that you do, and shut your mouth for a while.

Because to me as somebody who's been following this thread and everything else on the web, you seem like you're grabbing info from elsewhere and trying to recast it as your own for some sort of internet legacy on this board, and I am taking exception to it at this moment

 

I'm trying to quickly scroll through 400 pages to get a piece of news and as I pass by this, I think it's a bunch of guys giving the Nazi Salute in the Oval Office.

I'm sure what CK wants is worth it. The problem is the old morons that run the show probably don't see it that way. It's too bad we can't shitcan them like they did Mac. Their stupidity is why we suck now.

Sure, sans names and figures I can do it now. The vetting process is what's taking up a chunk of time and the biggest piece at this point, just because the guy has a grocery list of potential staff. Everyone is WELL worth the time the vetting takes. Think about it this way, if all the potentials are vetted and cleared - Chip can come in guns blazing and making hires. Versus, hiring him - and then the staff hiring stalling DURING early signing, recruiting, etc. They'd rather get all of that out of the way first. So once he's good on his decision he doesn't have to then get approval, it's already approved.

The old guard/old booster push back is part of it, but not that big of a deal - because SS is going to hire who he wants to hire. Period. Not to say he's not taking any input because he is, but at then of the day it's his call and MOST people inside UAA are okay with that. He wants this to get done, and believe it or not this pace IS quicker than usual. We're only a little over a week in from initial conversation.

That's pretty much it, I know it's not a sexy/complex answer but it's just the negotiation and finalization process. Any report of it stalling, not being close to done, or close to falling through just isn't accurate. The second the vetting pieces are done and both sides are content, it's a go. Hope that helps!
